Why can't guys be straightforward?

i know this guy since I was in grade 6 with him. he found me on facebook and we started chatting. it was nice then we exchanged numbers he texted me one night to meet up dt cause he was out for his friends birthday I did but he acted all shy and would ignore me when we were in the club like he couldn't find me! I saw him and went up to him to tell him I'm leaving, so I left. 5 min later he texts me saying to come back with sad faces and telling me I shouldn't have left. a few weeks later he told me he hopes to see me soon! and that he wanted to cuddle? I don't know if he likes me or if he just wants sex. what do you think?

He's shy and seems to have a generally lower self esteem. Guys like that will act like that sometimes. The feeling they aren't good enough or they don't even have a chance will surge though their mind. He is interested - and it's not just sex. That generalization normally dies after the male reaches fifteen...

yesterday we talked and he told me he doesn't date because he can't trust girls. I pretty much told him I liked him and then he said he doesn't date because of little reasons. then I said well I guess it sucks on my part then he's like "meh, lol I just don't like doing it." ... you know I can completely understand that he was being honest with me and that he doesn't want to lead me on.
