Guys, when do you give up on a girl?

(As in, give up on chasing a girl) ... Like; When you're "convinced" she doesn't like you back, you lose interest, a few months has passed, etc.

And would you start "chasing" her again(or open up to her again), if she suddenly showed (huge) interest in you?

I chased one girl for nearly 6 months. I knew for a fact she liked me, but she wasn't going to break up with her current Boyfriend for another guy (which, in my opinion, is a very commendable act that put a lot of trust into me about her integrity). Eventually I got to date her but the whole thing turned into complete sh*t quickly because it was only when I started dating her I realized she had some huge daddy issues. From that point on, I decided I'm never going to chase just one girl for an extended period of time. I've analyzed this episode in my life and I learned to see the point at which I should have stopped chasing her... which would have only been a few weeks after meeting her, not months.

Would I chase this girl again? F*ck no. For one, I don't talk to this girl. Second, even if I did start talking to her again, I'd have nothing I want to offer her be it friendship or more. She's got more baggage than a cargo ship can carry.

As for other girls I've chased and lost interest in... no, I won't try again. There have been times I've tried, but I was doing it only for a booty call and nothing more. In the past, my interest was actually in her as a person. Later on, it just became a girl I knew of that I'd feel comfortable asking for sex from.

Well I can see in her eyes if she's telling the truth, if she said I hate you and I don't love you and don't want and never want to be a housewife and I want to be an independent girl and never want you to provide for me, your just a silly hill billy guy from the 15th century...

i will tell her thank you, and turn my face and go in my way and never look back and never think of her anymore and never care about her anymore, even if she begged me to return to her, I will her throw her away, unless if she changed totally but I would want to know what made her change and if I'm convinced than I will think about it...

i'm not an idiot to chase a girl who doesn't likes me, a girl who want to show off on me and make think that I want her so badly is a complete turn off for, I won't try twice, it's just once if yes than I'll continue and if not than bye...i like humbled girls!

under 18 eh, well that chasing game doesn't work on us guys for very long. Once it happens to us once... we learn from it. We start to realize that all you are doing is seeking for attention and boosting your own ego by leading us on. If a guy is chasing you, tell him your not interested the sooner the better. Unless you are honestly interested of course.

If the girl suddenly showed a huge interest in me again, and it was the girl of my dreams, I would most definately get my hopes up again but I would proceed with exttreme caution so I wouldn't get burned by her again. The girl would have some serious explaining as to why she suddenly changed her mind. If I weed her out for what she probably is (lookin for attention) then I would say bye have a nice life.

The feelings I have for girls I like never really go away. If I decide that it isn't working than I will stop chasing and stop thinking of her. If she starts showing interest in me than I will still have feelings for her but I won't ask her out. Usually in my situation I will ask the girl out and if she cancels the first date than I usually stop chasing. The girl could possibility have been busy that day(called early in work) I would overlook it depending on her response. If a month goes by and she starts having feelings for me than she better be the one asking me out. I already tried and she f***ed it up so now the ball is on her side of the court.

if she shows huge interest in me, but when I show interest she wants me to chase her that's not genuine - these girls just want the attention not the relationship.

when the "case" is more valued than the actual affection, the girl isn't really interested in you as a person, so I stay away from such girls

You really never truly give up on a girl, it's really hard to do that. Myself, i got really attached to girls in high school that i really never had a chance with. The only reason i 'gave up' on them was because i either found some other girl to have a deep crush on or i just got completely detached from them because she moved, graduated, etc. But really, once you have a crush on someone there is always going to be that feeling you get when you see them walk past you, when you talk to them for the first time in months, etc. The only real way to get over a person and to 'give up' on them is really just to slow the bleeding, if that makes sense. Getting completely detached or moving on to another person are effective but you are always going to have that crush feeling with that certain someone.

yes, if I could tell it was genuine and I really liked/loved her to begin with then I would give her another chance, but if she stopped after a while of flirting then id be done cause she is just an attention whore, and she will live a hopeless life cause no one can please her.

Probably not. If I'm convinced she did not like me I would eventually move on & get over her. Once I'm over a girl It's hard for me to get those feelings back no matter what she does. That's if I even believe her.

That's scenario actually happened twice in the last year & both times I've ignored them like they did me.

All you can do is try, maybe he still feels for you but I wouldn't expect too much from him.

No way. Once I lose interest the attraction is gone. If she showed huge interest I would let her chase me until she lost it. Like she did to me.

ok. if I liked a girl I would be convinced very soon if she liked me or not. I don't know if it takes very long to know a girl, but I guess a month is enough to know if a person likes us.

I realize I ended up in her friend zone or she shows no interest. If she suddenly showed interest, it would be too late.
