'Serious' Demeanor for a guy?

Gilrs, do you generally not notice, ignore, avoid etc. guys that seem serious? My friends often tell me I need to seem more approachable and smile more often. For some reason I am usually quite straight-faced and monotone and I feel like this might be one of the reasons why I don't have any girlfriends or friends that are girls.

i think its kind of attractive when a guy that is serious most of the time smiles with a girls he likes it tells ma that he's not into games, but thast just me but when you notice a girls that you want to talk too you should smile because shy girls like me would take that sign as I'm already taken message.

Yes it is little intimidating to talk to someone who always or mostly serious.

Plus I am goofy and smile all the time. I feel like people don't' like being around me if I can't bring a smile to their face.
