Why would a guy who’s had a history of not taking relationships seriously want to be serious with you?

I don't know maybe I’m a skeptic and realistic enough to know that people don’t really change over night and there’s nothing really special about me that would make a guy be like “oh I think I’m gonna change for this one!” But it’s been 3 months and his behavior has been relatively consistent. No grand gestures or anything or trying to come off as Mr. perfect. Like the way he’s been is really neutral and kind but nothing that would bottom out. He’s consistent in contacting me and whatever hurdle we have he’s interested in listening to me. He’s a charming and good looking guy so if he wanted to jump ship because of my issues he would have done so right by now right? I’m the type where if something’s bothering me I’m going to say so, I don’t expect anyone to read my mind and I want things to get solved. He’s been good with that so far.
