When a man checks out a woman, how can you tell?

Well, if a guy is clearly staring at your breasts, your butt, or some other exposed area it's a safe bet that he's checking you out even if it may be purely sexual. While some women may have no issue with this, my guess is that you are looking for clues that tell you which man is being more respectable and checking you out for reasons of over-all presentation. I've always been told it's not polite to stare, so a guy that looks at you more than a few times but not for an unusually long length of time, may be considering your positive merits while attempting to not be entirely rude. However, a guy that is adept at analyzing potential targets can do so without any woman ever knowing they are actually being checked out. Such skill will only be discovered should the guy decide to go beyond the initial screening phase. At this point he will approach you and this will most likely be the first time you've noticed him. At this point it's too late to make any real determination as he's already done the checking and now he's come in for a closer evaluation and a chance to try out his personality and witty pick up line on you. Unfortunately there is no way to tell if the guy coming up to you actually possess this level of skill or if he's blindly hitting on the first person that his eyes liked. There is in fact a true fire way to determine if a guy is actually checking you out, but this method is so secretive that even men don't know what it is. Unfortunately I've been informed that this piece of information is only held within various women that posses the same skill in covertly checking out men.

a good way is to look into their direction but don't look AT them, if they turn around to see what or who you're looking at, then that's a sign... usually. at least in my experience :)

Yea, it's almost always sexual. The thing about it though is that we do it so naturally that it's not even a big deal. I live on campus right now and every single day I go to class I probably focus my eyes on hundreds of different girls' asses and judge it.. is it a good ass, flat ass, perfect ass, cute ass, etc. At the same I'm judging how they walk.. do they walk really straight, do they emphasize their hip/ass movement while they walk. After examining those 2 things, I either zone in on the hair and/or what they're wearing and judge how it looks... does it make them hotter or less attractive. Then if I can see their face, I decide if I would do them or not. Honestly.. this all happens within 3 seconds.. max. Sometimes I'll also judge their personality by their appearance.. are they gonna be snobby, nerdy, confident, nice, polite, mean, dumb, smart, etc.

So yea, it's usually sexual but we do it so often that we don't even always think about it.. it's just a habit to look and judge. But at the same time, any judgement about personality can change in a matter of seconds if a conversation starts :p

From a guys perspective and from friends and guys I know, most guys check out a girl to see how hot she is. If the girl has a large rack or a big round booty then most guys will check out the girl and determine if they would do her or if she's dating material. Guys would determine if they are a good enough to do it with pretty much. Guys are visual like that. If someone is extremely hot then even the guy that fights it will glance just once at least. Its hard to ignore someone hot if the girl flaunts it a lot. Some guys glance quick. Some out of the corner of their eyes. Some even ignore the girl until the girl passes by and they look back real quick or from a distance. Pretty much if your hot the guys will be thinking dirty unless you figure out a way to cover yourself up. Some guys are blatantly stare while some are secretive and covert. This is what goes through a guys mind, "She looks pretty hot, I wouldn't mind messing around with her. Is she single? She's hot." Pretty much every guy thinks about sex when making a judgment. If your super hot then prepare for multiple glances from guys.

for your reference: no, it is not always sexual. As far as how, it depends on how he looks at you, and the guy in general. Usually the guys that are doing it in a sexual manner seem to look them up and down, if they were some kind of object.

Guys will glance at all girls they think are hot, even when they're married or have a girlfriend. It's the way they're wired. However just because a guy looks doesn't mean he thinks she would make a good girlfriend or wife, it just means you're attractive. I know plenty of annoying hot girls that I would never want to date.
