Is sinking from an older man in a social setting mostly flirty?

So there's this guy, he's noticeably older than me, and I don't know sometimes if I'm just imagining things or if he's sending some vibes my way... He's been staring a lot, touching me for appropriate reasons but very tenderly, teasing me and all that and being emotionally receptive to me. I also get the feeling that he definitely tried to impress me a lot and kind of wants to make sure that he knows where I am and what I do. Anyway, recently we were at a get together and when he and I clinked glasses, he slowly winked at me with the eye the others couldn't see. I was like whaaaaat, does this mean anything?
Maybe he's just a nice guy who sees me in a daughter-like way, I just don't really know where to put such things.
Maybe the winking didn't mean anything flirty. But I also have the feeling that he's been giving me attention and with that in mind, I wonder if men would ever wink in an ambiguous situation or if they simply don't think that much anyway.

Don't really get this guy yet.

in this particular instance i would say he is trying to flirt but likely wants an overt sign your into him too. am guessing you have been sending signs but they are too subtle to be sure enough for him to come out and ask you for a date. as we get older the risk of asking a younger woman out increases.
