Is it bad that I want to learn to Spanish just to impress my crush?

My crush is from Argentina so he speaks fluent Spanish cuz it’s his first language and I was thinking about learning Spanish just to impress him. I wanna know is it bad that I only want to learn Spanish to impress him.

I think that learning any foreign language is an amazing thing to do... but just to impress a crush? No! Do it b/c it improves your primary language skills, do it b/c learning a foreign language improves you math skills, or do it b/c it increases your chances of getting a job in the future, but just to impress a crush? If he is really worth your affection, he really should not care if you speak Spanish or not! But... there are SO many other benefits to being Bi-lingual, you should just do it anyway, just do it for you!

When I asked this question, I was only going to learn just to impress him but as I started to really think about it that’s when I realized that I would need to know Spanish just in case his parents and the rest of his family don’t speak English. You can learn a little or a lot of both. Although I was born and raised in Los Angeles, Italian is my first language, Spanish is my second, and English is my third.

Have a pride, u don't need to impress anyone.. just try to be attractive, take care of yourself and give him a sign with glaring at him, u don't need to do something extra. Not boyfriend but if he was your husband then ye I'd say learn Spanish to communicate with his parents :D What I want to say is.. if you really want to learn Spanish, do it but never do it to impress someone even if its your crush or something. For me ( my idea ) its sign of a weakness and its not attractive at all, I find it girlish.. not like a true woman attidue. Honestly I think it’s cute you’re wanting to learn the language to impress him. Whilst it shouldn’t be your only motivation (learning a language in general is an amazing skill to have which can really be handy in the future), I think he would appreciate you taking the time and effort to learn it in order to communicate with him better.

My ex could speak fluent Chinese. I learned how to say certain sayings in Chinese so I could tell her it whenver I saw her. Things like "I love you" in Chinese for example.

If anything that's what I would recommend, I wouldn't want to full blown learn an entire language for one person though. Not sure if that's your goal or not.
