How often do you remember/take note of the things your crush tells you about themselves?

I used to be well invested in the person when crushing. I used to take note of stuff they told me. Like if they mentioned their bday, i’d set it in the calendar as a reminder lol. Or if they mentioned their fave food/games etc, i’d keep it in the back of my mind. I don't know if im just more into myself or what lol but these days, i dont remember crap when i crush on someone. I know i have had a bad short term memory for about 10 years now after hitting my head on a cabinet. So maybe its just getting worse. I don't know. I also know im not a good listener. Shoot, sometimes i dont even remember the dudes name unless he’s like one of those guys with the same name as my exes (and then i purposely try to forget it lol). But Thankfully people often tell a story where they quote someone and call out their own name 🤣 Then i’m like ahhh yes, thats his name 😆👌

I find it difficult sometimes but I try and keep up best I can. Especially the crushing stage as you try and make impression. Pressure feels on for sure. Just dropped an ex as a friend for forgetting my Bday so. But I've always put more into her than she ever did for me so that was like the perfect topper to it all. Think her grandma died and uncle or something. She also got married on my birthday and said it wasn't intentional so yeah, just wasn't the same between us amd I absolutely hated our relationship since. Like to me there's basics such as bdays and sexual turn ons and other preferences and then there's the millions of things they like and the names of favorite albulms and movies to remember. I try to be as creative with gifts as possible and incorporate all I can into it so its all useful material. But if they never show the same attention to detail or try for it even as a friend I see much less reasons to keep any ties going. I keep some others on socials amd stuff but not in contact with them. But yeah its a lot to keep up with, I get that.

If it's a crush, I won't take notes. I refuse to start taking notes until we're in a relationship. That's just a lot of wasted time and energy.
If you want me to remember sh*t, then talk to me on a regular basis and don't give me a chance to forget about you.

Well I always remember what bigger stories they tell me and what's important to them, what shaped them and all that but I don't even know the age or favorite color of my best friend soooo there is that lmao

Very good question.
I usually take ''mental notes'' whenever I'm talking with anyone, as to make sure to not forget important details and focus on what they are communicating to me.
This works both in interpersonal relationships of a romantic and business nature.

I find it a good practice to take note of anything significant that she says. If she says her favorite color is purple then that goes into a notebook. Then if I am out shopping for her gift I consult my notebook to see what I put down for favorite color. Same with things like music, movies, styles, political views, religious beliefs and so on right down to her Mom's birthday etc. I don't have a great memory but I usually get gifts and occasions correct and get a lot of compliments. One partner's mother adored Victorian decor so when I found a collection of Victorian Christmas cards for sale in an antique shop I bought them then my partner and I made some ornaments out of them and her Mom was thrilled. Yes, information about her Mom is important to take note of.

This is a tough one for me, I’ve never had a crush (on a peer) who didn’t ask me out. But yes, on dates I pay very close attention to the guy. What he likes or doesn’t like, what his goals are, his hopes and dreams, basically if he says it, I’m paying attention to it! This surely shouldn’t be surprising, I mean it’s just basic politeness! If someone asks you to go on a date, you pay attention to what he’s saying!

It would have to depend how ''big'' my crush is. If I'm really into her, I'll play very close attention, and hopefully remember most of it.

If I'm just getting interested in her, or you know, not REALLY into her, I'll try to remember only the important things, like her favorite things, or where she's from and stuff like that.

I remember as much as I can. I can't remember every detail about her, but I do remember the special moments that we have shared together, and I remember as many of the details about her life that she has shared. I want to know everything about her. I do forget the little things sometime, and the thing I hate is that I forgot her birthday. I just know that she is a Leo, so I somewhat have an idea. I have to find out soon.

It's easier during covid. It's mostly done by chatting and before calling I can just scroll back to things that were said ;)
The best to remember is to just have him tell more about those specific things, so it isn't just briefly mentioned. Easy to remember, and he appreciates it.

Uhm. I must admit I've never taken any note about any of that. Got me several partners nonetheless. Maybe it's not that important to know all that much about the other's details, as you end up learning them anyway if you spend enough time together.
