Is the saying true that the hotter a girl is the more lonely she is?

I herd somewhere that the hotter a girl is the less she gets approached by men because they are intimidated and therefore are usually happier that you have approached them when you do? Any extremely attractive girls answer would be much appreciated as well as anyone with experience with this saying

I'm not extremely attractive. But many of my friends are. One gal in particular, looks like a super model. There is no way on earth that girl is lonely. Guys flock to her like madness. Sometimes it's nearly impossible to keep up with her. However, this girl is highly approachable. She's friendly, open, and funny. We had a serious conversation not too long ago. I asked her what it was like to have all of those guys around her all the time, or coming up to ask her out.

She basically said: I get nervous when one of them turns out to be a player. So I'm paranoid.

Therefore I think it depends on the person. My other friend happens to be outstandingly beautiful, but is a little more stuck up. This makes her kind of intimidating to approach. She is more bothered than happy about the attention. The other girl is okay with the attention but is more cautious.

Guys do approach extremely attractive girls because they think other guys don't.

Most guys think hey she's beautiful she moust not get approached so if I approach I'm guaranteed because she'll be grateful I approached.

Pretty much all dating advice is geared to this as well.

Sad logic and quite pitiful to want to be someone's choice because you're the only one who showed.

It's also a logic fail just because you're the only guy doesn't mean she'll pick you.

Being completely honest its kinda true. I get approached a lot, but its usually no one up to my standards...i get goof balls galore. I still love the attention but have noticed that the hot guys are always the ones that are hesitant to approach. who knows. Also, I have to deal with a lot of jealousy from other females, so its hard to find genuine gal pals.

Hot girls get approached by duds unless they have hot guys in their social circle to date.

Kind of. Some hot women are unapproachable. Some are. The unapproachable ones are somewhat lonelier - only jerks will bother. The approachable ones are probably not so lonely.

A not so attractive guy can surprisingly often get a really hot girl if he just goes for it. Thing is, it's not going to be the hot girl who's approachable. It will be more the "cold beauty" or whatever - the girl who just looks like she'll ignore anybody beneath her station. It's not going to be the hot girl who is really friendly and outgoing - because she is getting as many guys going after her as you would expect.

I would say as a whole, no. It's rare that an attractive girl is lonely because she doesn't get approached. It's usually because she rejects everybody that does, and if she gets a reputation for that, then a lot of guys will stop bothering to try.

wow, ok. I can totally relate to this. Which is why I am here. I am told I am extremely beautiful. :( Especially for my age. My husband passed away from cancer -4 years ago. So I am now on the dating field. I can't walk into a bar alone for being pummeled by men. However, all they want is sex. I go to gas stations and men want to buy things for me. Really anywhere in public. I get cat called all the time. I am extremely lonely, and extremely depressed about it. In fact, during my marriage I put on an extra 200 pounds to avoid getting accused of cheating. To avoid my husband having to be always on alert. He was a very jealous man. By the way I lost the weight after he passed. We were together for 33 years. I say I am polite, very friendly, very approachable, kind, compassionate, empathetic. That gets me nowhere... unless I'm in sweat pants and a baggy T shirt with NO make up and my hair a mess. I've thought of taking a knife to my face and shaving my head. maybe then I would meet a good man. I can't get dressed up to go out. I have no girlfriends to hang out with. It is true women hate me. Unless they are as confident in themselves as me and know their worth as I do. I don't care how a man looks (as long as he is somewhat fit). That's only because I like mountain climbing, walking, working outside, that sort of thing. He needs to be able to keep up. :) I refuse to be arm candy and a sex toy. In fact, I refuse to have sex while dating until I know what the mans intentions truly are. So yes. I am very lonely and depressed. I wish I would have died instead of my husband.
