He likes me, but I like his friend..what should I do?

Here's the deal: A friend and business contact of mine has expressed interest in me and I have tried to tell him in many nice ways that I am not interested in him like that. Over the weekend, we went out for his birthday and he introduced me to one of his friends and there was an immediate attraction. While talking with him all night, our personalities were really clicking. When my flirty side came out, my friend began acting as if we were together - kinda like marking his territory. I was getting very annoyed considering I am not in a relationship with him.



Anyway, this friend of mine is the only contact I have for his friend. Is there any nice way to do this?

If he is a business contact, I would think twice about how mixing things might affect your money.

If you still want to do it I would straight up ask his permission to talk to his friend. Tell him you "like him as a friend, but you didn't want to mess with his friendship so you wanted to ask him straight up". (he may not like this, but he'll have to respect you for being honest). If he says yes, ask him for his friend's number and call him (don't make this guy put in work hooking you up, that would suck if you were in his shoes).

If he says no, then maturely tell him how you feel, tell him he is his friend, tell him you accept it and be professional (if this guy affects your money). If he doesn't affect your money, just maturely tell him how you feel and try to meet his friend some other time (you don't want to mess with his friendship, but he shouldn't prevent you two from being happy just because he is jealous, you could say this too). Either way mean what you say and follow through.

Good advice. I'm in the same situation but the guy that likes me doesn't know that I like his friend. and when I asked for his number he plain down said no!!! how mean right. so imagine if he did know!! so any advice for me on that one? I've contemplated tellin him, but my friends say he would just mess things up for me with his friend.

UPDATE: Do not ask the guy for his friend's number. ask the friend/get the friend to ask you (after you have done the other things) Making the guy put in work of any kind to hook you up would suck if you were in his shoes (I mistakenly contradicted that by saying ask for the friend's number). As far as your comment dakota102, you have to ask yourself which you want more, to date his friend and lose the friendship or vice versa. This guy seems like he will get jealous and it will ruin things.

How mature right? Even though I knew his friend LONG before he even knew me.
