As I understand it, you had a crush on a guy. He found out about the crush on him. Maybe you two had sex and maybe you didn't. Now he wants to be just friends. You are hoping he will suddenly change his mind.

If you can be his friend in a non-sexual way, then do so. There are men and women who can do this. He may like you, but he just isn't that much into you. If you are being his friend in the hopes that he will fall in love with you... get on with your life and move on. You will waste a ton of time pursuing a man who just isn't that much into you.

It could but there is no guarantee it will happen, so I think it's foolish to engage in a friendship with such a hope. If the person is not really interested in a friendship then they're most likely wasting their time.

It's possible. This happened to one of my friends. He did end up dating his crush 2 years later. But it's rare. So don't get your hopes up as a guarantee. Keep your options open.
