How to attract a nerdy guy?

There's this really cute nerdy kid I like at my university and we chat occasionally but not really. I know he's a bit shy but I wonder if he just picks up on the fact that we don't like too many of the same things.I'm not a nerdy type AT ALL. I'm the opposite. I was always the popular, pretty girl in high school, I was on the cheer squad, dance team, did gymnastics, I was on student government, blah blah blah. I'm just as involved in university now. I also have my ditzy moments and I'm not intelligent in the same ways he is. He's into science, video games, Asian culture, anime, WOW, etc. I know he's physically attracted to me because he stares at me sometimes when he thinks I'm not paying attention but he almost never comes over to chat with me. He did tell me "are you kidding? you're beautiful" when I was freaking out over a minor breakout on my face. (Yeah I'm one of those girls. Lol) He's very cute, hot even, but he doesn't know He is, that type. Its just kind of refreshing because I'm used to dating guys who know all too well how hot they are, very conceited physically.

The times when we do talk its usually one on one. He doesn't like talking to me when I'm surrounded by my usual group of friends. I also wonder if its a racial thing because I'm not all white, I'm part black and native American, but I don't think that would matter to him.

Anyway what do you think I should do? I would ask him out but I'm scared...lol I'm afraid he'll reject me. We don't look like a good match on paper but I don't know I am starting to like him more and more. And I kind of want to f*** him too. xD

Quit being a pansy and ask him out. If guys didn't put aside their insecurities and actually ask a girl out, we wouldn't be in existence right now. Well, we probably would, but you get the idea. Both genders have insecurities when they are first getting to know someone and they are unsure of the mutual attraction.

Yet you've already stated you know he finds you attractive and while he is shy he is talking to you in private and hasn't run away yet. So ask him to join you for dinner one night or for a movie in your dorm and then make the move on him, haha. I don't recommend trying to f*** him on the first date though. Just cuddle and go for a kiss. Take things slow and keep it private for a bit otherwise your friends/associates might give him crap for it. Wait until you two have figure things out to make it public. Be open and frank with him about these things. Get to know him, haha. You can do it!

You should make the first move but lighten things up with a bit; us nerds like good ol' dorky, down-to-earth humor and if you crack a couple of jokes along these lines, then it will make you seem more human. More "datable" to him, in other words.
