So this guy is 4 years older than me and teaches me in self development class. We see each other every day (online) and also have talked but it's mostly formal. Shall I send him a follow request on Instagram or Will it be too personal and weird? Also we know each other since 4 months but nothing too informal has happened :(

Actually it's not a typical school class. It's way more casual than that. Also if something does happen it won't affect his career/job

Two scenarios.
He could think it's weird and/or doesn't feel anything for you.
He could develop feelings and that would turn into one of two things.
Dating you, which could ruin his career.
Heartbreak having to turn you down for his career and that won't do either of you any good.

Well, I would look at it from a different perspective.
He has not had any informal and personal conversation with you, correct? It has been 4 months and it has stayed consistent in being professional. So you must not know a whole lot about his personal life and what he is like outside of work, correct?
This would mean that you don't really know a whole lot about him. To have true feelings for someone, typically you would know random personal facts about them. You would have had a past connection with them where you were on a more personable level.
Your feelings are likely more physical attraction and infatuation. You like the *idea* of being with him, which is a normal feeling. But it does pass! lol

Actually, it's not like a school class or something like that. Like I don't even call him as a teacher, more like elder brother. Also it's not just his looks, I didn't have any feelings for him for a month after I joined. But when I talked to him 1 on 1 on call, even though it wasn't a long one, his personality is >>> is when I caught feelings. Also I had 2 exams during this duration, 1 of which wasn't even related to this class, still he wished me luck personally, so it's not like we have never spoken informally at all.
