How can you tell if a guy is shy versus not interested?

There's a guy who I've just met, we didn't really talk but he asked our mutual friends to introduce him to me. I catch him lookiing at me sometimes, but it could just be a coincidence. He seems to talk to our mutual friends who are girls no problem and acts really relaxed around them, but is quiet when I talk to him, but maybe it's because we don't really know eachother. How can you tell if someone is shy or just not interested? Or do I not know him well enough to tell?

If he asked to be introduced to you it's a sign he's at least open to being friends. I would talk to him more, there's no way to really tell. However in my experience shy guys will act awkward around you but will be near you a lot of the time and in the same places you are. Not interested guys won't make an effort to even be around you, and will be confident around you bc they don't care what you think of them as much.

I think if he was Shy he probably wouldn't be talking to those other Girls like that but I know it can be hard to tell.
Us Guys have the same Problem except you Don't look like your Committing a Crime if we misread the Situation.

Certainly sounds more shy and interested. If you're also potentially interested, start initiating conversation with them a little, make them feel more comfortable around you and they should start to open up.
