Why do girls suck at throwing hints at dudes?

Lol I know personally I absolutely suck at being charming with the opposite sex in any way.
I'm terribly too awkward, introverted, and shy and I overall just never know what to say.
My toxic trait is liking a guy, and even after having an amazing conversation with him and him being very nice to me, I will unintentionally ghost him or he will just never find out because I will never have the courage to make the effort to let him know. I've always been considered an awkward girl (especially in high school).
Having anxiety and terribly low self esteem makes it no better either.
I am probably not the only one like this either.
I know some girls that are simply traditional and may do things like play hard to get or hard to figure out in a way to make themselves mysterious or simply just because they like the chase. A lot of girls like for guys to take control a bit and tend to like when guys can attempt to figure them or they may just simply not want to make the first move due to not wanting to come on too strong.
It's a girl thing. It's complicated but only we know, lol.

It depends from girl to girl. Some girls are straight forward and straight up they show whether they are interested in you or not. You can identify easily whether she is being nice or is flirting. Some girls are shy and you can't even distinguish their act whether they are being nice or are trying to flirt. Commonly if she is interested in you then:-
-> She will stay close with you. Like suppose you are in a party then she will like try to come near you and it is mostly seen as unintentional.
-> She will smile a lot. This is a common habit which girls do when they are near their crush because they want to look their best and smiling kind of gives positive vibes so they try to glow bright with their smile.
-> They try to copy your actions. Like if you fiddling with your fingers then she will also do that.

For girls you get to know by their actions more than their words. A girl shows up that she is interested in you by her actions. However there are girls who will flirt a lot and you will even know whether they are interested in you or not but most of them show it from their actions. That saying "Actions speak louder than words" come in play here. Observe her to actions. Try to study more about girls behavior and it will be more clear to you. Three points I said above are most important and common ones.

Sometimes (at least in my case) it's because we don't want to risk putting ourselves out there, especially if the guy hasn't in a big way. We're afraid of rejection or making a fool out of ourselves, or our egos won't allow it. They have to come to us first. It's a silly mindset but it's self-protection.

I always throw two hints. If he hasn't gotten it then i’ll be more direct and approach on the third try. But a guy would also know if im flirting or not cause if im not into him, i bring up other guys so that he knows where stands
