Is there a point where you just kind of give up on getting to know someone?

There’s this girl who has been next-door for like a year and we said hi a bunch of times and I started a conversation with her like last November and then I really don’t see her around much for months and at this point it’s been like a year we don’t know each other and so I just kind of don’t like her way now. I feel like it’s awkward because we should know each other by now

even though I see her probably once or twice a week on average walking her dog

i’m living at home right now though and so is she. However, I feel a little weird because I don’t have a car yet because I’m a little bit scared of driving. I’m planning on getting one soon but I feel like it’s definitely weird until I have one. But at this point it’s probably just been too much time. I used to commute to my job in New York but I don’t go into the office anymore
