I think playing hard to get is the easiest and best way to lose a man. It's okay to show a little interest but not being obvious about it. If you mean by being mysterious yeah it's a good way to create that tension. Your answers are showing him that you're disinterested so he may back up. So try a giving a little interest but not too obvious for exemple when he say why wouldn't i you say yeah, why wouldn't you 🤔? . You now created mystery with giving a little interest
