I feel shy to look into men eyes?

I feel awkward and simply cannot maintain eye contact with men I see on streets, in cafes, etc. I’m not religious or sociopathic, I just feel shy (despite the fact I get a lot of attention from people). How do I overcome this? Maybe there’s a sentence I should repeat by myself in my mind or any other trick to help me financially look into men’s eyes?

I am a shy man and I have trouble maintaining eye contact with a woman I find attractive. I used to struggle with low self-esteem so it’s a habit to immediately turn my gaze if I meet a woman’s eyes.


However, I’m trying to work on it and after reading that one of the biggest ways both men and women signal attraction is strong eye contact, I’ve been forcing myself to not only maintain eye contact but hold it for just a tiny bit longer than feels natural (as that slight second or two longer is an attraction signal), even though it feels awkward and uncomfortable.


If you want men to approach you you have to practice eye contact. And men typically are dense so if you want a specific guy to approach you need to make sure you make strong eye contact at least three times. Usually by the third time he’ll get the vibe your throwing his way.

Almost no one is comfortable with maintaining eye contact like that, but after you look away, think tp yourself "did I like him?" if you did look again. After your eyes meet 2/3 times he will know and it really is mainly on him to make a move from there
