Why does my guy friend not want me to talk about other guys?

My guy friend recently told me he doesn't want me to talk about other guys with him, much less someone I could be interested in. He said he doesn't want to hear about anyone I'm into. He does seem a bit strange and unnatural whenever I have to mention a man, his voice suddenly becomes a bit higher and he behaves slightly stiff for a moment. Could this mean he has feelings for me? Does he want me to know?

Yea he clearly has feelings for you. Although I don' t know what his issue is. His telling you that IS THE SAME as telling you straigh-out that he has feelings for you. But it's doing it without telling you he likes you. It's some cowardly bullshit.

He is making is unmistakable that he likes you. But instead of telling you, he is saying "don't tell me about other guys"... pre-supposing he has no chance with you; or that you couldn't possibly be interested in him. It's some extreme low-self-esteem shit.

It's acting as though you are automatically and inevitably going to reject him, so he's not even bothering to let you know he likes you... because he knows you aren't going to like him back. So he is saying "don't tell me about other guys... because even though you won't want me... It hurts to hear about you wanting those other, better guys".

So... he has feeling for you, but he's being a fucking idiot about it.
