How do girls like to be approached on a social event wether they are in a group or not?

So i already asked this question to a few girls and one answered that she like to be bought a drink that the guy then should leave and that she would talk if she saw him again personnaly i thought it was pretty strange

You can certainly offer to buy a drink - if she sends you away after, though, you were just a drink caddy.

Personally, I usually go places with friends (of all genders), so a guy who can integrate into a conversation naturally and without too much awkardness is good.

Or just wait for me to mention something you're interested in talking to me about, then approaching me with "hey, I heard you talk about X earlier - can you tell me more about that?" Or whatever.

But I don't usually hang out in bars or stuff like that. My activities are pretty social and interactive as they are.

That is strange to buy someone a drink and walk away. I'm used to being approached. I work as a bartender. When I'm off for the night I will have a drink. Guys just sit down and start a conversation. If I'm with a group of friends, no different.

Nah, don’t go that. Just try to start a convo. If she’s attracted to you, she’ll like it unless you’re rude or less or really boring. Only gone on the offer of a drink if the convo goes well.
