Do some guys take things slow because they respect the girl and want to make sure they are ready?

I feel as though this guy likes me, we hang out a lot and always talk, I've met some of his friends and vice versa, but I can't tell if he is shy or not into me. We watched a movie the other night and I asked what we were because I was confused on how I was supposed to act around him and he agreed and didn't know what we were either. But after a few minutes of awkward silence, he put his arm around me and asked is that better? From that we held hands and cuddled on the couch and actually ended up on his bed Because the couch wasn't very comfy. We feel asleep for a few hours spooning and it felt completely normal. But then we hung out 2 days later, and he didn't hold my hand or anything. Does he want me to make the first move and grab his hand so he knows it's okay? Or is he just not feeling it? I'm confused!

Guys take things slow because they are either concerned that you are not in to them and they don't want to push you or they are just not that in to you. Since this guy clearly sees you are in to him, I pick the last option.

I disagree with the answerers who say that he is unsure how you feel. Short of you jumping on top of him in the bed, I think it is quite clear to him. I just know that when a guy feels a lot of passion for us, their hormones get the better of them and a little encouragement from us will open them up to holding our hands and kissing us spontaneously. A guy who is not putting forward the effort to continue what has already started is a guy who is conflicted and unsure. He may really like you but not be ready for a relationship. He may enjoy you on one level, but not see you as long-term girlfriend potential. All sorts of things can keep a guy from being in to us. It happens.

If you want to test out the other theories, that he needs more encouragement, then initiate the hand holding the next time you see him. See how that goes. But overall I would feel extremely awkward initiating something like that with a guy who already knew I liked him and enjoyed him spooning with me, etc. It's up to you. Good luck!

Maybe he thinks he went overboard that day and is afraid that you didn't like it. Just confirm him by making the move. He put himself out there, and now he's waiting for you to do the same. :) Good luck!
