Yes.
You can't expect someone to be intimate with you, if you're not able to provide them an overview of who YOU are (your personality, confidence, mutual respect, etc) as many people who are no social do not understand how to make others feel safe and respected, and having sex with someone is something significant, so being safe and offering that comfort really is necessary.

If you are 26 as your age indicates, and you are not social - that is a huge issue. Not only for dating, but for life in general too. Friendships, relationships, employment, everyday life all require social aspect, and learning to communicate with people is an essential life skill.
You truly need to do some self work, and get out of your comfort zone in order to progress toward being intimate with someone or flirting. If you cannot socialize, and are so uncomfortable in a social situation or setting, that is a STRONG indicator toward others, women especially, to steer clear.
