Girls, those who work in service and retail do dudes flirt with you all the time?

I see men sit there and hold up the DADGUM LINE because they wanna stand there and talk to the pretty girl whose the cashier when I’m in a hurry. I noticed this too in retail when I worked in it. I never realized how many dudes sit there flirting with the girls. Including older men flirting with the teenagers.

It was just daily. Some guys tried playing it cool but it was pretty obvious. The girls had to be nice because if they got a complaint the DM would become very upset. But some dudes were brazen. Asking them out. Making suggestive comments. Like all day everyday.

Yeah it’s happened. Luckily either my manager (an older lady) or my assistant manager (a guy) were usually around so it didn’t get too crazy.

Unless a person was holding the line up or being over the top. The managers seemed to not care. They wanted to keep the customers happy.

I knew some of the girls got written up because they got tired of putting up with dudes BS… Not that the majority of men are the issue. Most were just respectful and making some small talk. But you know the type

It was mostly the DM. The other managers were pretty cool. The assistant DM. The general manager. The assistant managers. And the department managers were okay

My managers were pretty cool and kept guys from bothering me too much. But I’m glad you really understand the plight of girls in retail.

True… Depends on where you work at I guess. Don’t get me wrong there was girls too who took things the wrong way and jumped to the wrong conclusions about certain things.

I mean as a guy sometimes someone will flirt but not to that extreme. It really bothers me when people hold a line up though just to have a conversation with a girl they think is pretty. It’s painful to watch when you can tell she’s just trying to be nice because she HAS to be to keep her job.

I understand too that… People feel attraction. I don’t think flirting is wrong but just be direct and if someone says no leave them alone. Trying to force someone to have a hour long conversation at work is probably going to be a nuisance to everyone.

Sometimes it's nice. But when the guy makes stupid comments or makes others wait, it's very uncomfortable.

I understand it really depends on whose flirting with someone as well as if someone’s taken. Some people are fine they seem like they’re being friendly and then all the sudden they make some off color remark.

The sad thing is… These remarks have probably worked on women in the past. So they think it’s okay to do it to any woman they interact with.
