Asked crush out to line dancing and got rejected?

My crush I am pretty sure has a crush on me. I am 26, he is 30. He ogles at me and tries to hide it, smiles at me often with eye contact, steals glances, and acts like a gentleman, especially around my parents. Overall happy to see me. I asked him if he wanted to go line dancing today and he said a mutual friend would be interested. I don’t get it, why did he reject me? I am thinking he has to be taken. Should I ask him if he is? Does he really think I am just being friendly and he’s shy?

Sounds like you’re thinking way too much into this. Seems like every post on here posted from a female is about a man who is stealing glances, making eye contact w her, etc, etc. That is their perception, reality says otherwise. Maybe he’s just being nice. I see women throughout the day that I will smile at. That’s because in the past they reciprocated that smile. I didn’t smile because I was interested, just being friendly. So when you see the same women who reciprocate that smile or hello’s or good morning, you tend to do it again. It’s not always cause a man is interested. I think it’s just hard for women to understand that these days because a lot of men may not do it for a number of reasons. So it always seems to be taken as being flirtatious when in reality he’s just trying to be nice.
