The reason is most likely because you are introverted and that you feel insecure and uncomfortable meeting those people in real life.

You always have the option to just shut down your computer when it gets to uncomfortable talking online. This is obviously no longer an option when you are on a face to face basis and that you must face that person, even when the situation gets uncomfortable or out of control.

If you want to meet people in real life, then you have to get out of your comfort zone and face the real world.

You can train your approach but you must also realize that you may fail.
