Why do guys I meet online not want to meet up with me but flirt over text constantly?

On dating apps and even on Instagram I get guys messaging me saying how I’m stunning, sexy, got good chat yet they never invite me on a date

and if I initiate the date they will bail or not confirm the plan

I hate texting back and forth, I’d rather meet up in the early stages and get to know them in person but it seems like it’s always an online thing

before anyone says “they might be catfish” I’ve had FaceTime calls with most of them and others have sent me live videos of them so I don’t speak to any fake accounts

i just don’t get why they’d sext me, flirt or even just generally talk to me BUT never organise meeting up in person

do you think it’s best I just meet guys in person like at bars or clubs. My work place is women only so I can’t meet my future boyfriend at work

Trying to meet online (outside of dating apps) is just creepy. You don't really know the person. Most guys won't meet you because from the man's perspective, whenever we're around women and the subject of online comes up, the women usually start talking about all the creepy guys who hit on them, basically telling us that "guys who text and ask you out" are creepy by default.

Mixed signals I guess. It's not you specifically, you might be doing everything right, but this is a widespread gender communications issue I think.

Could be cold feet, anxiety etc, or maybe not serious to begin with (I wouldn't sext with them before meeting). But also, everyone has different levels of comfort also, both men and women, some like to meet right away, others need time and like to get to know you a bit first before meeting, so it could be that also? Keep searching is my suggestion, both in person and online. But for the online, just let them know that you are interested in meeting in person early on and find out right off the bat if that's something they agree to. Yes there are some immature people out there that might lie and play games, but generally if you're direct like this right off the bat, these types won't stick around.

I'm not sure, definitely something weird going on with your experiences.

I think meeting in person is best, for first dates it should be somewhere you can talk. I always viewed a first date as an interview, so rather than seeking to hook up etc, Instead I always focused on just meeting for a chat for 2 hours and see how we got on.

Somewhere public like a zoo or something, where both people can walk & talk. Like a cinema is not a good place.

Look at you your gorgeous. Unfortunately that's your blessing and your curse its gonna make guys want you but also its gonna intimidate some guys as well. The guy you date has to be secure about himself or it won't work cause your the type of woman that's gonna garner a lot of attention and he has to be a secure type of guy to be able to handle that
