Asked out girl, she said she had boyfriend? excuse?

I was out last night at a bar - ended up chatting a pretty cute girl.

She seemed friendly but very "neutral" to me (no touching, not too much giggling). She was never creeped out by me though and we chatted for about 15-30 minutes about random stuff/ourselves.

I told her "we should hang out sometime...give me your number" and said "sorry I have a boyfriend" and I said "oh"...then she goes "Otherwise I would".

Does that mean she actually had a bf? or was it just an excuse

If you're constantly getting rejected then this may have been an excuse as there may something inherently unattractive about you. I highly doubt that's the case. The fact that she was willing to chat with you says you were interesting enough...unless she's just a really tolerant person.

Most likely, she was telling the truth. In either case, there's no real way to tell. She's unavailable to you and it doesn't do anything for you to focus on it. It only makes you start making you feel bad about yourself which is completely pointless. Her loss!

She probably has a boyfriend. I think the excuse was, "otherwise I would." She probably just said that to be nice. Girls don't really consider infidelity so lightly.

Girls don't see a guy's approach the way guys do. Guys only approach girls when they want something more, but girls (especially ones who are in relationships) can see it to mean that he's just friendly. I have no idea why, but that's usually the case.

There is no point trying to analyze this, it could go either way. But my opinion is she probably does, she would not have talked to you for so long if you bored her or she wasn't attracted to you in some way. If she was as cute as you say, she would have moved to another guy or made an excuse, like gave you a fake number or gotten yours.

1. Do actually have a boyfriend.

2. Don't have a boyfriend, but are enjoying the attention you're giving them.

We'll never know. Don't wrack your brain over her, just find a new girl and move on.

Well there's no way of knowing for sure unless you meet her boyfriend, is there? And it seems as it was the truth, but had you asked her in person you could have perhaps deduced it from her facial expression(s) whether or not she was lying. That's why I always prefer asking face to face.

Made believe 'chatted' as over the internet. But you didn't notice anything if she was lying and was acting sincere? It's impossible for us tell you if it was an excuse.

The fact that she herself didn't make any advances or respond overly enthusiastically to any of yours hints that she wasn't interested in anything more than a platonic relationship with you. I'd take her at her word of being in a relationship and move past it.

Maybe she was just polite, you seemed like a nice guy to talk to and that's it. I doubt that the boyfriend was an excuse. Look on the bright side-you'd feel worse if the girl was mean to you and rejected you very instant.

Shes probably was having fun chatting with a person about interests. She probably has a boyfriend and would hang out with you as friends but because of her respect for her boyfriend she finds it a bit inappropriate.
