Should I take the risk and tell my crush I like him? If enough people say it's a good idea, I'll do it

I met him this year and we're friends but not that close. I've had actual conversations with him before but all in class (but we talked about things unrelated to class). A few of my friends told me that I should tell him I like him and the only reason I'm considering it is because we only have one week of school left and the chances of us having any classes together next year are very slim.

By the way I am in high school. And if you vote yes and you have any ideas on how to tell him then please share. Ideas like through a note or something. I might freak out and walk away right after telling him if I try to tell him it to his face, I've actually done that before.

I decided that I'm going to try to tell him tomorrow. I want to do it over text though so that I don't get nervous and chicken out and so that he has a chance to think of what I said instead of the two of us just standing there awkwardly after I say it. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to say? Should I just text him "I like you" and that's it or "Can I tell you something?" and then tell him?

Lets evaluate. Right now what do you have between you two besides casual conversation and class. Well you know how you feel about him. Maybe he's just shy and feels the same way about you. Right now you don't know. He doesn't know your feelings about him. You have one week left before school lets out.

You can choose not to let him know and unless he tells you, you will never know. You can wait and hope he will tell you, but perhaps he's too shy to tell you so he will hold it in, school will let out and you both will still be in the situation of not knowing. You will be bitten by the "what if" bug. You will have less interaction with him because there's no more class.

Or...

You can take matters into your own hands and choose to tell him and he will know, and maybe feel easier bout opening up his feelings toward you. You may exchange numbers and have a summer to interact and get to know one another. It would be a huge gain because now you will still be able to talk to one another.

The way I see it, the only option you have is the option outlined in my second paragraph. If you fear him possibly rejecting you, one option is to tell him on the last day. Chances are, I really think he likes you too, but he's just too shy to tell you. A lot of boys in school suffer from shyness around girls. I would find the best time where you feel the most comfortable and tell him how you feel.

I wouldn't advice you to tell him you like him, just ask him if he would want to hang out after school.

That way you´ll know if he is interested without giving him all the power. he needs to earn whatever he gets from you. make him work for it,

It's best to try and tell him. If anything a guy will be flattered that a girl came forward and admitted it. My last "Failure" was liking a girl, trying to read her signals (which women are good at making mixed) and try to tell her I like her. Turns out she figured out I liked her, but kept going on anyways. When we were hanging out this week in a pool I let her know I liked her and asked if she wanted to go out soon. Got rejected, but at least I can focus on someone else now...

As Woody says, Attraction has an expiration date. If that guy is possibly interested, it won't last if you hold off. It's best you be honest and let him know.

YES. PLEASE. for the first time in life make the effort yourself and don't expect the guy to do everything. men hate girls hard to get. OK the chase is fun, but if you like him and want him just be honest. I don't know why girls think its a hit to their dignity that they have to tell the guy they like him.

Why? Because you'll regret it if you don'., whereas if he does reject you, you'll get over it. But, your first-ever rejection may well be a bit tough. But, subsequent ones will bother you less.

It doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you make it clear you like him in that way. Dropping hints won't work, because guys don't get hints. Writing him a note is fine, as long as it's not an anonymous note.
