Why do some women ask rhetorical questions?

Such as , "how could you have done that?'

"What possessed you to say _____?'

"What should I do about your doing -------?

They don't want you to try too answer these questions, so why do they ask them?

What usually comes after the questions?

When I start doing that it is usually because I am mad or upset in some way. Other than that I just want the answers, but sometimes all the questions come out at once because I would be really really pissed off.
