Every time my boyfriend gets mad he punches a wall.

I don't get it and I don't know why he does this. I have told him to stop and that he can't do it while dating me, But he still ends up hitting the wall or something hard. How can I stop it?

That sounds like an extremely dangerous situation, if he his hitting the wall when he gets angry. He'll eventually start hitting you , if you don't remove yourself. And no matter what he says,or what you do. You don't deserve it. I never had this happen to me,but my cousin was in an abusive relationship, her boyfriend hit walls and her. Just take this advice into consideration. I'm not trying to tell you what to do because I don't know you personally. But If I were you I would GET OUT!

Just because a guy is hitting a wall, doesn't mean that he is going to hit a woman. However, there is clearly an issue with handling frustration / anger and other emotions.

Like Neubauten said, you can't make other people do anything... telling him he can't punch walls while dating you isn't going to help that any. It may actually make it worse. He needs to find a better outlet for handling his stress.

Its up to you whether or not you want to stick around for this though.

Ya I got that he told me that he does it because he doesn't want to hit the person. so I'm pretty sure he won't hit me. but right now he couldn't do that anyway. he is out of state.

None of us can control other people. We can only control ourselves.

He may or may not escalate to hitting you. But I think that someone who often punches the wall has some problems with expressing their anger. Perhaps you should consider if this guy is a good match.

every once in a while I punch a wall or break something or do something like that. sometimes you have a little frustration you need to get out. doesn't mean he's unstable or unable to control himself. just means he needs to vent and doesn't know of any other ways.
