I told her how I felt way too soon and she ran. What do I do now?

I told this shyish girl how I felt too soon. We hadn't even kissed or anything and I think I blew it by telling her I really liked her too soon. Naturally she ran because she's insecure (acc. to her friend) so I'm not sure what to do. I know she feels somewhat the same as me because we act differently with each other than we do with anyone else. Have I blown it or can I do anything? We talk and that but there's tension, I just want to grab her haha.

You're not sure yet if she likes you the way you like her. If you didn't touch or kiss yet, of course it was too quick to say that. Remember, if you told her you like her and she stopped talking to you, she's not into you. She might just needed a friend, that's all. You need to be more patient, I suppose. But it is not clear if you two are contacting yet or not. If you stopped contacting, then forget about her. open up your mind and look for someone else or just kindly ask her out on a friendly date. We are in contact yeah, she contacted me Xmas eve, about 2 months after I stopped contacting her after I told her how I felt...which I found strange, because if she didn't want me she wouldn't have bothered to make contact. Its all very confusing

I would just give it some time. Regardless of the fact that she likes you back, you might've caught her by surprise, and she's sort of freaking out as to how she should react. Once she gets her mind around it, she should come around. Just give her some space for now.

Thanks for reply! Well this happened back in Sept/Oct last year and we are back to college now and she seems to be back to the shy stage with me again, like we were before I told her...so maybe I haven't totally screwed things up?

how well/long did you know her for before you told her? Just hang around her as friends and continue being really thoughtful around her, letting her see that she still matters to you. I was in a similar situation to you as the girl. The guy told me he liked me in September which I said no to, and we're together as of the new year so I guess everyone does it at their own pace. You didn't mess things up. :)

Thanks! feel a bit better about all of this now! I've known her almost three years now...go to same college but only got talking to her properly about 18 months ago I guess. Ill do all of what you told me anyway.

I would have done the same but if you tell her that you will wait for hr to express her feelings no matter what time it could take and that you will always be here, I'm sure she will be eased with the impression of controlling the situation :) cuz you came like a real wrecking ball

Don't be too let down at the moment, if you like her and she likes you then she will most likely come and talk to you again. Just wait for her to come back to you as you may scare her away again if you try and talk to her again. Maybe try sending her an apology text but don't harass her to get her to talk to you again

Well maybe she ran because she doesn't know if you really like her. If you hardly know her she might assume its just for looks and think you only want a physical relationship

Thanks for your answer, but no Im sure she knows that its not just looks. we have talked for hours about our families and stuff so Im pretty sure she knows Im interested in her, not just for her looks, even if she is gorgeous :)

Sorry I didn't mean it like that. Her friend actually took me aside one night to tell me she is insecure that's how I know.

Most girls are insecure in at least some capacity. It still doesn't mean that's the reason for her reaction.

I'd say give her a little space. Be patient with her. Focus on being friends with her first, she sounds like the type who might need or want that

I think you should talk to one of her friends. Tell them what your intensions are and they might agree to help you figure things out with her.
