When people saw uncle Ben's smiling face they saw a happy black guy who was proud of his product not an oppressed slave. The term uncle was and still is used as a term of endearment for people regardless of race.
Why are some of you still thinking food brand or food companies supporting for racist or not? Establishing a standard for which is racist, which is not by changing color white to black, adding Black people into brands for sale or supporting for some certain political organizations (sorry for that but frankly, I think what we should do for Black is helping their community better generally, instead of shaming, defaming White (even some certain non-white communities), or lowering importance of the other races (Hispanic, Asian, even White) doesn’t make thing better at all. Do you need Asian and Hispanic companies doing it either for your satisfaction?
Some are a bit sad and pointless to see change but some I honestly see a better difference for it. Mostly the syrup. I think companies just hop on the Capitalism train and please the community rather than make their own decisions. "Oh you're calling our competitor's racist? Well look at us! We changed our brand for you too and you didn't even have to ask! Remember love is money so show us your love and support for these minorities. But mostly us. Don't forget to donate to our Pretend To Make A Change Foundation too."
They weren't racist to begin with. That Aunt Jemima brand had a major controversy from the family of the founder. It was the founder's likeness on the cover. The family gets money from the product but they don't have a say in marketing anymore. They felt completely betrayed by the company company they said that they were removing her likeness. This stupid "woke" fad that has everyone overly sensitive is all thats going on.
The communist just erased minorities from grocery store shelves. The next step in their plan was to block them from actually accessing grocery stores so that they would starve to death due to vaccine passports. They want to erase minority history, so that it is easier to erase minorities completely...
After years of racist foods hurling racist insults at me every morning and lecturing me about the inferiority of people with my genetic background, sometime around 2020 my food decided to stop doing this and only gives me dirty looks instead. I can finally eat breakfast without hearing some racist nonsense. You know, I think food is becoming less racist!
As the world's most racist man, I for one am happy to no longer see black people on my box of pancakes or cream of wheat in the morning. I can't think of anything more unappetizing which is why I fully endorse continuing to remove all black people from everything and returning them to Africa.
Apart from the Eskimo Pie, I'm not familiar with any of these. People need to stop focusing on things like this that just do not matter at all, and use their time and talents to bring about changes that will actually matter. This is just petty.
Which goes to show how stupid certain *read brown people are... >Feed them a line of BS (racial politics) >They take it gleefully >Subjugate them in some form or fashion (in this case remove them from the public eye) >They thank you for being sensitive to their racial politics (which you fed to them in the first place)
No I think it’s a bunch of political bs to divide a nation. Malcom ex once told blacks people the biggest danger to them was rich white liberals. I feel like he told the truth.

So your argument then is that they should be out there fighting to maintain characters who were designed to show them in an inferior way? That seems kind of F'd up man.
You misunderstand. You state “my argument.” I don’t argue with people that’s my opinion. my opinion it won’t change I also know what I said to be a fact. It’s what the democrats have done since the became a party. Also any company that bends to these stupid politicians will lose my business , any one who contributes to this stupid crap will invite my derision. I don’t respect it. I also don’t care what people think I also quite frankly don’t care what 13.4 % of the population thinks and it’s not even that much because most black people I know don’t by the rhetoric and bs either.
Sorry, my mistake. So your opinion then is that they should be out there fighting to maintain characters who were designed to show them in an inferior way? That seems kind of F'd up man.
No my opinion is it’s a distraction from reality. I personally don’t care about names on food products it’s not my priority , and it seems ridiculous and petty. The people who are related to the woman on the syrup bottle didn’t go for it either. They released a statement about what they thought of it. I don’t see a black person and think oh goodness be careful , or oh man poor black person kets help him because he’s black. I don’t have a white savior complex. I think that is the epitome of racism. . No I just see another American who has the privilege to live in this country just like I do. I also believe these whites who have the attitudes I described are the biggest part of the problem.
Actually, Her name was Nancy Green. ABC NEWS says she was aunt jimima and created the pancake mix. Not sure about the syrup. Anyways, she was real and probably had the photo put on the box herself. Racist? Oh come on! What about Wendy's and Kentucky fried chicken fast food places?
She didn't create the pancake mix, she was hired to promote it. You ever wonder why it took 97 years to give her a proper cemetary headstone. chicagodefender.com/.../
Nancy was just a spokeswoman for the brand, and the mammy stereotype that she implies is a bit racist. Even if they gave her a lifetime contract, the life she lived until her death kind of said she wasn't getting paid handsomely either.
Some of those, the creators wanted it named that and put their own picture on the product they created. It is fake outrage and liberal WHITE women that wanted Black people taken off of products they created. Same goes for the Washington Redskins changing their name due to liberal White women complaining. I have actual Native American friends and they liked the name.
If liberals don't want to be racist then they should donate any property to Native Americans & get on a boat to Europe where their ancestors came from. It's not that complicated. Anything less is just hypocritical bs.
They did Uncle Ben dirty, he was a respectable looking dude.
The family of Aunt Jemima are not happy with their ancestor being erased, but hey why would the left listen to black people actually involved in the situation, they never have before.
I don't think food is racist at all. I can't understand why blacks for instance went through so much trouble to get products for them put on shelves as opposed to everything like makeup and hairspray and hair color being geared toward white women. They finally got their faces on products and then decided for some reason it's racist and had him taken back off. If you really want to fuss about something think about this Woody woodpecker is three names for a dick and nobody says shit.
Nancy Green didn't create Aunt Jemima, nor any of it's products, she was hired to play the role. That name came from a blackface singer, and she was born into slavery. Too many past stereotypes, and abuse in-play, and 2020 told us we need to do better. Pepsi did the right thing to move on, and she finally got a proper cemetery headstone after being unmarked for over 97 years.
When I was in basic training my best friend was a black kid. One Saturday I had to work off some demerits and he was waiting for me to finish. I had to go to the chow hall and I was able to steal a watermelon. When I got back to the barracks I told him I had watermelon. He made some remark about not all black people like watermelon. I felt really bad about it. I just thought a cold piece of watermelon would be good. Then he started laughing and told me he was only kidding.

More like white racist liberals want to erase black history. You could say that food is becoming more racist by white washing black people off of products with historical long lasting name brands. Since this is all done by petitions, which almost exclusivly have white liberals on them, you can assume, they must hate black peoples historical success in the U. S. and other western countries. My response to all this is; STOP MESSING WITH American HISTORY...

Give it a few years and people will be complaining coloureds are underrepresented on food packaging

🤷♂️ it's what I saw on ABC news web site
Nancy was just a spokeswoman for the brand, and the mammy stereotype that she implies is a bit racist. Even if they gave her a lifetime contract, the life she lived until her death kind of said she wasn't getting paid handsomely either.
Yeah, you got a point there if she didn't own a big nice normal home and such. 🤷♂️ well, I didn't know her personally.
