Yah removing all the black racist characters while white characters like kentucky friend chickens or starbucks remains. Good job.
Not quite sure I understand this comment as the Starbucks mascot is a mythical siren and the original Col. Sanders was a real person, Harland David Sanders, and founder of KFC.
Lmfao 😅bingo girl
So was Jamima and Ben. But now they removed black and native faces and kept white ones. It feels a bit "horseshoe" to me. The motivation might be respect for minorities, but it has the same outcome as minority erasure.
Let's just say you have a valid point..." White faces" as you say does not carry the same conotation as ethnically diverse people in the country due to historical context and still held implicit and explicit racist views and people's resistance to be aware of it.
@OpenClose What white faces? These companies didn't put white people on their boxes, in lieu of the characters they took off, they removed the images as requested by those that felt offense.
Food was never racist to begin with. The only racist were the overly sensitive people who were "offended" in the first place. Aunt jamima was my favorite syrup. Not any more.
Companies modernizing their packaging to fit the current times. Great. Moving on.
All I see are people of color being removed from brands and replaced with new logos excluding them. Now people don’t have to be offended by seeing a person of color on items you buy every day all in the name of “equality”. Congratulations.
I completely agree. We need to remove black people and indian/eskimo tribe faces off food brands. Who wants to be buying rice and there's the picture of some black guy on it? Remove them all!
As a black male, i have never had any problems with those brands. Actually since removing them. It's nothing but white people on brands now. So is it really becoming less racist?
Hmmmmm...
I don't see in what those food were racist before seriously...
Yea, so glad they are getting rid of these racist cartoons... On food and sport teams.
Leave it to corporations to erase all representation of all non-whites on food products. Hitler would be proud.
It's a racist's dream. No more do they have to see black faces staring at them from their pancake box. There are only white advertising icons, now!
It should be (it's 2024, not 1924), and to continue the trend toward non-racist grub, they should put a picture a me, a handsome black buckaroo in cowboy garb on the box or bottle.
When I was a kid one of the lunchtime aides (not food worker, but a playground "cop") was a large black woman, and everyone referred to her as "Jemima", even to her face.
Food was never racist. I miss Aunt Jemima! Just seeing her smile on the box was one of the things I enjoyed about having pancakes. It just felt like nice.
If by less racist you mean removing minorities from products because of their race then no
The land of lakes one is the worst, they took away the native but left the land 😂😂
No. Its to stop White people from viewing it as such.
Nope. Virtue signaling at its worst. Or as one comedian said about Land O Lakes, "Typical. Remove the Native and keep the land."
Let's be racist be erasing the faces off all Black/Brown people from all products. White Liberals are so fucking stupid.
Those companies were afraid of having their factories/ headquarters burned down by looters (the BLMer’s).
lol just peel the label off n eat
or maybe its just a sign we should toss this junk away grab the fruit /veg
Welcome to the stupid world where too many people get butt hurt feelings.. Boo hoo! It's a stupid world full of PC liberal trans/homosexual fucks.
