Waffles really are better than pancakes

This is my first MyTake so I decided to talk about how waffles really are better than pancakes.

Well that’s it for the intro so now let me tell you why.

1. Syrup pockets

Seriously

You can literally save time and have the pockets hold the syrup for you.

2. Less time to make

Done!

It’s statistically proven that waffles take a shorter amount of time to cook than pancakes.

Average time for waffles: 4-5 min

Avergae time for pancakes: About 10 min

3. You can pair it with multiple things

Best combo

Some people eat it with chicken, icecream, use sandwich toppings (without syrup) or even sloppy jo!

4 . They just taste better

Ah, waffle heaven.

Well, I guess this is the end of my MyTake. Pretty short but you get the point.

So what do you think? Are waffles better than pancakes? Or not..

-ps. Waffle gang we may be a small army but great things come in small packages.

Syrup pockets reminded me of Mitch Hedberg.

Pancakes take seconds to make and can be paired with savoury and sweet very easily.

a lovely sweet one is hot pancake, ice cream and strawberries on top, then simply roll it and you have a lovely simple dessert?

I think she's talking about American pancakes. They call these type ones Crepes, even in the UK they've started doing that now

@anniisa97 never really heard of them being called crepes in the UK, as Crepes (French) are slightly different.

If you go to any dessert shop thats been opened in the last 8 years or so they now call it Crepes, and pancakes are only "American pancakes"

Are they selling Crepes or English Pancakes though?

There is actually a difference, same with Breton ones.

It seems like they've replaced Crepes with a English pancakes. The only different to my knowledge is that English pancakes are a bit thicker and smaller overall. Whereas crepes are thinner and can be folded, and still be larger than an English pancake. The ingredients for crepe are a bit more specific than English pancakes but generally speaking there isn't much difference in the ingredients overall or the taste. I can see why these dessert shops only make one of the two.

Crepes are the future :P

@anniisa97 pancakes can be as well.

They are simply based on standard batter mix and average frying pan size.

Both are good.
I tend to stab the pancakes with a fork before I pour the syrup so it soaks in.
I can vary the recipe a little more with pancakes and flip them just at the right time instead of hoping that when I open the waffle maker they're not scorched.
I love waffles... I just prefer pancakes.
Still a good my take.

I like waffles if they have chicken nuggets or fruit with them. Other than that, I like pancakes since you can put fruit and chocolate chips in them (I'm the only one in my family who likes them that way). We have 2 new waffle makers this year and they make good waffles so far.

There are some hippy style restaurants in Browning Montana, Outside Glacier National Park, not far from Canada, that have the best homemade waffles on the planet. Another great one is the cafeteria at the greyhound bus station in Atlanta. Surprisingly some of the best on the planet too.

I respectfully disagree. The order goes: French Toast -> Pancakes -> Everything else -> Waffles. But that is okay; you can eat all the starch bread you want.

yes, I love waffles. The Belgian waffles are even better. They have deeper pockets and that are usually crispier. Throw in a few handfulls of blueberries too.

Yes pancakes are better. It is also easier to make. As a blink you must have seen in first or second episode of Blackpink house episodes. Jennie was struggling to make first 2 pancakes.

No. Pancakes are better. Waffles get cold and hard a LOT faster.

Chef here. Waffles have a higher fat content than pancakes on average so people like them more. It's literally the same ingredients 9/10 minus the added fat (and the machine its cooked on). Case Closed.

Peanut butter and butter pecan syrup on waffles. Chicken and waffles works for me.
