Do you like Southern Style country breakfast?

grits
pancakes or waffles

A biscuit in the US and Canada is like a Scone in the UK, Australia, NZ, Ireland etc...

I would take the eggs and coffee, without a problem.
But... this plate has a distinct lack of green on it.

Are tomatoes verboten in a Southern Style country breakfast?
Or chives, or at least some blueberries or fruit of some kind?

What do you guys eat for your leafy greens?

I love southern breakfast tastes great the butter melted on cheesy grits the flufyy buttery biscuit with jelly or gravy and cheesy scrambled eggs with hot smoky Bacon and well baked pancakes/waffles seasoned home fries or hash browns with some fride fish cakes 😋

Hellz yes. Waffle House/Cracker Barrel is where it's at!!! I was also born and raised in the south so I got to eat this kind of stuff quite often lol. No wonder the southern states are the states with the higher obesity rates in the country lol

by the way, we went to Bob Evans restaurant this weekend and I got the 3 pancake, biscuit and gravy, eggs and bacon breakfast. I would have gotten grits but it was grits or biscuits and I wanted the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits by themselves are ok but they are heavenly with country style gravy on them.

@PreciousTimes Southern American cuisine does have a distinct tradition an appearance, it's possible you eat like that everyday, (which is highly unhealthy) but there is still such a thing as southern breakfast for example.

Grits aren’t unhealthy neither are eggs even tho I don’t eat those but I don’t believe waffles are either. As for a distinct tradition. That’s a lie. As I just mentioned black people have been preparing this breakfast since the beginning of time. It’s a part of our culture💁🏽‍♀️ but okay 👌🏾

@PreciousTimes This is incorrect. The food type presented in the image and the list below does constitute unhealthy food to eat on regular basis, and America does suffer from obesity, Sweden does not, and does not eat this kind of food regularly.
Furthermore, it's quite impossible for black people to have been cooking like this since, "the dawn of time".

I think you might be mixing up soul food with southern food, since while not all southern food is soul, all soul is southern. Soul food as I recall does stem from black culture, but southern food on the whole doesn't.
