What's something you've baked that turned out bad?

Sometimes when I make my Grandmas oatmeal bread. It doesn’t rise right. So it comes out dense with parts which come out doughy. It’s really tough to do those old recipes.
She made it all the time. So she must of had insane forearm and grip endurance. Because my arms get gassed out trying to do it by hand and I workout. I’m just lazy and use my KitchenAid now.
Which makes the recipe harder. As the amount of flour isn’t exact. She’d vary it by the feel of the dough. Plus getting Active Dry Yeast right is tough.
When I didn't know how to use the stove I made scrambled eggs in the microwave. Terrible idea, I also used to add milk cause that's what I was taught. Fucking horrible. Too hot and would give me heartburn. Thank God I know know how to use a stovetop and can make sunny side up or hard-boiled eggs. Also fuck cow's milk, it's gross and should be outlawed.
My siy and I decided to bake a quiche pie 🥧 that were really popular. It's a savory 🧀 cheese pie made with onions, spinach, etc. It looked great, but when we took a bite, it was really sweet 🤷🏼♀️. We went back and checked the recipe, which called for evaporated milk in the can. My sister misread the canned milk labels and picked up sweetened condensed milk which is very sweet. 🤭
I made oatmeal cookies with my boyfriend once… We made them at midnight while half asleep.
I told him to try one out. He said, “Babe, I don’t know how to tell you this, but I think we fucked them up… The best way to describe the taste is — Burnt and barbecued asshole.”
I didn’t even bother tasting them, we just threw them in the trash.

I’ve never had it look good and taste bad, only the opposite.
I tried to make brownie cookies without reading a recipe.
They looked like someone threw raw donuts at the wall and scraped them off with their hands.
Tasted like brownies though. Lol
I had made a cheesecake awhile ago. New recipe. While checking on it, everything looked cooked. Nothing was jiggling. So I had taken it out and put it in the fridge. Waited the appropriate time to cut it. The middle was not cooked somehow. It has been the only cake that has not turned out well for me.
your muffins will be good next time if you want to try again and get used to it. so cheer up and don't give up 🙌☺️
(i sometimes has fail about this too. lol)
I have had this happen with cookies and making frosting. The color issue was I used salted butter, instead of unsalted. On the frosting I just could not get the consistency right and it ruined the cake
the only time i had stuff turn out bland is when i followed the ingredients on the back of the box for brownies and cake. that's when i learned to use butter instead of oil and milk instead of water and use eggs. sometimes i had to learn through trial and error
one thing i hate working with is dough it's a complete pain in the ass especially when making spinach pies or calzones it takes forever to make and i have to double the thickness of the bottom dough and double the thickness of the top dough. basically i end up using 4 fucking doughs to make the damn things. and i only get 6 to maybe 9 pies or calzones out of it.
also i can't stand making raviolis from fucking scratch that to is a complete fucking pain in the god damn ass to do. any time i'm forced to work with raw dough from a bag in a freezer it becomes a long dragged out pain to do. i perfer using premade dough that's already in a tube or the already made pizza dough because i can get my cooking done in a fraction of the time
first several times i made rice i screwed it up but then i bought a rice cooker and learned how to wash the rice out before cooking it and it comes out incredible every single time. i have to usually wash the rice out at least 4 to 5 times minimum before i put it in the rice cooker
I tried making my own peanut butter and yogurt mix vegetable dip and hated it
also tried mixing honey with peanut butter and hated that too
I baked cookies twice, wrong. In a row. Took me a minute to figure out I was using cornmeal instead of flour 😂
It was my birthday, and I wanted to bake a choco lava cake, but it turned out disastrously 😕.
Vanillies. Like brownies, but with a white chocolate base. A lot harder to make than you'd think.
Once baked lasagna and it almost never made me wanna eat lasagna again
you probably added to much baking soda. if they have kind of a metallic taste to them... too much baking soda. I did that once by accident making pancakes
Why are you using both? Keep baking soda in the fridge. Anyway it looks like you baked at a higher than needed heat.
This is the recipe I was trying to follow.

I would suggest experimenting more, creating your own recipes :)
Oh dear.
Yes! Cooking, frying, baking, grilling even rotisserie :) I have excused ex girlfriends out of the kitchen to taste real flavor.
I'm overly harsh on my own baking and usually find flaws even if other don't.
for baking i follow recipes exactly how they are written. because its more of like chemistry then cooking.
I made a chocolate fudge cake when I was 12 looked great I was very proud of myself it was vile 🤭🤣
