It really irritates me. If I have to go home and fill up on junk food because I didn;t get enough food st the place I just spent big pile of money at I feel chested.
Yep I'm the same too. I prefer larger portion sizes, that's why I like all you can eat restaurants or Chinese takeout places. Although in my place, there are some fine dining restaurants that have large portion sizes.
Some restaurants have a lunch portion which I was told I could order from the lunch menu in the evening also, and I usually order from the lunch menu because it’s cheaper and enough to fill my tummy.
Maybe it's a little bit of both. Some places might have smaller portions for even them and you might like to eat a lot lol. I've been to Italy a bunch of times and never felt hungry after a meal with multiple courses. The Mediterranean diet isn't very meat heavy. They definitely eat meat and serve it. There should be meat on the menus but you'll see more seafood, obviously pasta, salads and vegetables just to name a few things
No, you're probably no different than most people. Restaurants are notorious for resorting to cheapskate, , skinflint tactics, to boost profits and screw their customers.
Same in London, expensive places serving tiny portions and good local points that cost less filling you up

I'm of 2 minds on this. The consumer in me wants value for my money. But I'm not 20 anymore and if I strap on the feedbag I get fat. So no, I really don't mind small portions because they're aiding me in not gaining weight.
Small portions that are better than humongous portions. You do not waste the portions. Even if you take the excess portions home, a lot of times we end up throwing it away.
I usually check the reviews too but seems like many people tend to comment more on the taste or price rather than the portion. Also, it can be subjective. Something that is small for me could be big for others.

Everything to do with Inflation. Even the Cracker Barrell I hit on the freeway came out with less than I am used too. No to-go-box before Biden...

I don't go to super pricy restaurants if I'm starving. They usually prepare too much than I can handle :)
That said, I don't mind if it's a small portion, if it tastes great.
Italy's portions are normal sized not small. Did you order more than one course?
Yes. I am not sure if I am just someone who eats a lot but I have heard other people saying the same thing.

i wanna make a joke but i'm scared to make a joke. i have not experienced fine dining but i think i will be fine with it.
if it’s also a place that over prices then it’s a problem.
I like some of that as long as it’s good quality.
America just serves larger portions than the majority of the rest of the world.
It annoys the hell out of me! I hate fine dining restaurants for that very reason.
I prefer small portions. I'll usually order tapas if they're on the menu.
Small portions in Italy are normal... You're not supposed to be eating a bucket load of pasta. I found what I was served there was sufficient.
Tourist traps most likely

Lol maybe that’s why Italy doesn’t have an issue with obesity like the United States does
I’d rather have a smaller portion of really good quality food instead of a huge portion of crap quality, over processed junk.
I am looking their feed back before going to Restaurant, so I don't have any problem...

No they are making comment about food portion as well...
Depends on the restaurant. European restaurants have a minimalist culture unlike Americans ones.
If you go to America you'll see just how huge portion sizes can be lol
I am moving to the States in one month time so good for me then lol.
