Do you care what sex your meat is?

I went out earlier with friends for lunch and we settled on the lamb. We immediately determined it was ram lamb, about a year old and grass-fed. I thought it was ok but a couple of my friends could taste the ram too much for them to enjoy it.

So do you mind eating male animals or does the testosterone taint spoil it for you?

Yes, especially venison. Old male deer isn't especially tasty, I guess this is valid for most animals even for birds like chicken. That's why female animals are mostly farmed or male animals which are castrated or slaughtered before hormones give meat specific taste.

Some hunters hunt red dear for trophy antler (horn and skull). Shooting old males is legal for this purpose but this meat isn't good, mostly usable for stews and soups. Old boars are even worse in taste, practically inedible. That's why people who buy venison in specialized shops are often disappointed about "wild animal meat" they bought for lot of money because it's an old male.

Food is food people, they’re already dead. I couldn’t tell what’s a male or a female was with food, even if i tried to tell. And what does testerone have to do with this? Food is food for godsakes, i like food i couldn’t give a single damn what sex they were just as long as it tastes well. 👍😃

Unless it is served with the testicles attached, I would have no clue. That being said, I can discern the taste between filtered, spring and re-mineralized bottle water. I am also really good at detecting sodium levels and other chemical parameters in water.

I've never thought about that before, I always assumed male and female Bovine meat tasted the same and it does to me. Same goes for Pork, Turkey and fish. As for Chicken, it's not like you're not eating a rooster.
