How much do you have to tip your grocery delivery guy?

Today I left a $10.00 tip on my $31 order cause I was afraid nobody would deliver it if I left a $6.00 tip. I live walking distance from the store but my groceries are around 20 pounds to carry home and round trip we are looking at over 2 kilometres of walking.

I personally don't think you need to tip the grocery guy if he works for the grocery store. That's part of his income to deliver groceries to those that order. And the people that deliver by car a percentage of that profit that goes to the grocery store goes to the contractor door hub and any other place. If you feel like doing it but it's their job. My opinion. It's also like going to the quick food restaurant you order your meal and they have a tip jar. They make a good wage. Now if it's at a restaurant, where you sit down and eat. A waitress waits on you takes your order and brings your meals to you that is a different story. Most of those people make minimum wage.

I the US a waitress/waiter does not make minimum wage they make LESS. The tips make up for that a interesting note here is some states the waitress/waiter only has to be paid 2.13 a hour minimum wage plus what they make in tips, THIS is only for eat in restaurants and not fast food places

1€ normally, 2€ when they also bring my beverage crates. in Germany these guys have a salary and not a bad one. Your 10$ sounds excessive!

Just don't make the mistake that some people do. They think the tip should be based on the dollar amount of your groceries or restaurant food. It's not. It's all based on distance the driver has to travel. For instance, if you bought a $5.00 bottle of wine, the tip should be the same as a $500.00 bottle of wine. Your driver doesn't care about how much your wine costs, they're more concerned about how much gas costs.
