How much, if at all, do you generally tip?

I tip between 15-20% in most cases - I've been a waiter and had other jobs where tips made the difference between bare survival and being able to have a decent, though far from extravagant, life. I believe in paying for what I'm getting, and I certainly don't intend to screw over a worker to get a deal.
I think a lot of people don't realize that you'd be paying either way. If tipping was outlawed tomorrow, restaurants and other jobs would have to significantly increase wages for their workers, which would increase their own costs, and those costs would be passed along to their customers in the form of higher prices. Menu items would go up 15-20% and other services would get a similar increase. The difference would be that the workers would then have less motivation to provide good customer service, because their paycheck would be less directly dependent on doing so.
Most people don't understand how important customer service is, but if they traveled to other countries that don't have a tipping culture, they'd be shocked by the low level of customer service, and often by the outright rudeness of many (not all!) service workers. I've had over a dozen friends who moved to the US from somewhere else as (young) adults, and found that they quickly came to love the customer service here - even if tipping took some adjustment for them - and were shocked at how bad the customer service was when they would go home to visit, having forgotten how things were back home.
I hate tipping as a system, I'd much prefer that workers were paid a good wage (and prices increased) but since that doesn't happen, I tip well.
20% or more if the service is good, 10% if it is bad, 0% if there is a "required" tip of any kind.
No need for tipping here, people are paid a livable wage.

If the tip is not included, 15% is the service was adequate and 20% if it was very good.
My SO is a former server, and she's told me all kinds of stories about serving, so unless the service is really bad I usually tip 20% rounded up to the nearest dollar.
I tip based on the service, which in the last 3 years been shitty. Two of those being post covid And stop leaving my pizzas at my doorstep without knocking! I ordered Dominos, not doordash!
5-10% normally but most tips are included in the bill ❤️
I don't live in the US luckily. Customers are not expected to pay for the workers salory outside of Murica.
10% sometimes more
In a society where tipping isn't mandated that's plenty
20 percent;
15 or 20%.
Probably around 18 %
