Is this cereal still safe to eat?

Ok so I’ve had packaged serial that’s not been opened yet in this attic room, the thing is my sister also keeps her cat upstairs and has been putting her litter bags, litter bags as in her cats scooped up poop from the litter that’s been put in bags, in the attic for potentially months and months that we only just found out about and threw away last week.

is the cereal safe to eat? It’s packaged so it’s not made any direct contact with the food but it’s been in the same room for a long time. So shall I just throw it away or is it safe to eat?

It is most likely is safe to eat, but I wouldn’t eat in a million years. I’m not going to get sick to save a couple of dollars.

It is probably safe to eat as it if it is still sealed, but the thought would enough to put me off

Thanks, yeah it’s unfortunate but I hate wasting food. Looks like we will have to throw it away, we had 4 family sized bags of cereal but you’re right, it’s gross

It’s pretty expensive because it’s a protein cereal with less sugars. It’s similar to cheerios but it’s called crispy fantasy
