lol wtf is this? Half a dozen opinions all saying that it's dangerous or stinks? Holy crap, looks like we have the type of people to throw away a potato because its peel is brown. ㅤ
I never tried this product though. Does it have stored liquids/oils? If there is a packet of liquid then throw that away, but keep any dry stuff.
Liquids mainly because the platics would have leached into it. Although i think that's the case even when its brand new.
If it's dry it's edible.
Is the food situation really bad for you? I'd give it to pets or livestock when things seem fishy.
Pasta and cheese? Most dog foods contain wheat and dairy, except specifically hypoallergenic type of dog food. Unless the "cheese" is fake artificial cheese in which case it's probably not a healthy food product in the first place (i have no clue either way) and still it's inpossible to be toxic. Like if it contains something similar to margarine? Nobody dies from it, it's just fattening, etc.
Yes, those are considered non-perishable foods. “Best by” is not the same as expiration dates. Even expiration dates have some wiggle room. All that nonsense is made up to protect idiots from themselves and to prevent their survivors from suing food companies.
It's dehydrated stuff. I wouldn't eat that because fats are getting rancid after some time. Dry and fat free stuff would be probably still okay.
I guess instant noodles are still okay but vacuum dried sauce isn't.
Yeah, I ate pasta two years expired. Tasted the same, with fresh pasta sauce.
If it was just the pasta shells I would still eat it if there was nothing else or I was starving. Pasta shells last a long time. It is just the other ingredients that might give me 2nd pause to eat it.

I eat stuff WAY older than that and it's just fine.
Someone gave me a case of mac and cheese. It doesn't have a date because it wasn't packaged for individual sale. But it's at least ten years old. I'd have no problem eating it.
I eat canned stuff that's 10-15 years past the date.
Last I checked, yea. Quite healthy actually.
Those dates are for marketing, not safety. The safe date is way past the best by date.
It depends on what it is. With some things you can't tell the difference. I can't see mac and cheese hurting the taste much.
I have 20-25 year old Campbell's soup. It tends to separate inside the can with the liquid moving to the bottom and the top drying. So I just flip the can every now and that keeps it mixed. Once it's re-hydrated it's fine.
Chocolate might have butter and/or oil in it, so it might go rancid.
I had some canned meat that was over 25 years old. I finally threw most of it away. It was from a small company and it might not have been packed well. The date was stamped on the bottom of the can (embossed, not printed). The embossing deforms the can and causes a weak spot. I noticed tiny pinprick sized rust spots. When I squeezed the can hard, some liquid broke through where the rust was. So I ended up tossing it.
No I don't think so, it expired 2 years ago, about to be 3 soon, I think it's best not to eat it, the pasta might be old and might not cause anything besides being a different texture but the cheese I would assume is made of dairy, if you want to actually take the chances and hope you made fancie cheese then by all means lol
Fancier*
Looks like craft macaroni and cheese personally I would not eat it because it says 2023 so it’s two years old and chances are when you cook the macaroni that it would probably taste like the cardboard smell smells. trust me, personal experience
It's dry ingredients... Most likely just gonna be fine... If you can call this kind of food fine to begin with. In the 10 minutes it takes to make those you could also cook it fresh from scratch
Exactly. Cook macaroni. Grate cheese. Stir together. Not how I would make it, but an 8 year old could do this. And there is at least a little nutritional value.
@Clyde_123 I would say if they are sealed tightly, and have not been opened, or exposed to the air, they should be alright to eat. I would have no problem with eating them, if once opened, they look and smell fine.
I'd smell the noodles and taste one. those might be ok
would't eat the packet of yuck, just get some butter and cheese and melt it and all good.
or toss it all.
Dude, you're not living in a post nuclear apocalypse. I'm sure you can do better than that.
Packaged macaroni cheese? Wtf.
I wouldn't risk it. Technically those are shelf stable since the cheese sauce is powder, but still not worth the risk because the noodles are unprotected inside the cardboard box. If they were in their own plastic bag it would be different.
I've never had it, so I'd never heat it anyway. But no... liquid since 2023 (2 years ago) should be tossed.
It's probably safe to eat the pasta after boiling it in water for 9-10 minutes but I'd avoid the cheese.
Definitely not. Even a month or so off in the same year isn't safe to eat. Maybe if it was frozen as soon as you purchased it, that'd be okay. Milk can be drunk after its expiration date if it was frozen.
I would smell the pasta. If it smells okay, it's probably safe as the cheese powder likely never goes bad.
They are not good to eat when fresh, let alone when they are that old.
My thinking
I was never very fond of KD,, but hear me out. Make Kraft Diner, get a can of diced tomatoes. Drain the liquid throw it in, and add chilli flakes... SOOO MUCH BETTER.
No. They’ve been expired for two years. Throw them out.
That's not how best before dates work
As a rule of thumb, if something is best before 1 year from manufacture date it will be exactly the same in 25 years. The manufacturers are required to write *something* on it. Some foods lose their flavour, like powdered spices, breakfast cereal, etc. But they are still perfectly safe to eat.
yes, there is nothing that can go bad. It might taste a little stale.
It wasn't real food to begin with. You are fine to eat it
Why would you even consider putting that shit into your body, voluntarily?
I don't know. Look at the package. It might give you more information. I personally would not eat anything made in 2023.
The package looks a little questionable; is the inner package intact?
Check the packaging. If it's still airtight you're good to go.
Throw that old trash food away unless you are broke as a two-dollar hooker
Sure if you want food poisoning and be on the toilet seat shitting your ass out with diarrhea and cramps and bloating then yeah it's safe to eat 🙄🙄🙄
It's some kind of dehydrated food, I think it's safe.
Eat one pack
If you're still alive, eat the second pack
Then say thanks to your sister🙂
Yeah its dry pasta and dry powder.
I wouldn't, they are very inexpensive.
Are you that hard up for food?
Why risk it?
I would error on the side of caution!
Nope.
No, do not eat
