Nope. When I make bolognese sauce that is usually made with balls in some recipes, I roast minced beef while spreading it on the pan until it becomes loose mass.
When I want balls I make Swedish or Koenigsberger ones in mushrooms or sweet cream - dill sauce

Nope and for bolognaise I tend to do it the Italian way and not American, will also use tagliatelle with the Ragu. With meatballs I usually have them Swedish. With Spaghetti I will go for carbonara or other simple mixes, such as carrettiera (prefer Rome version).

I have a good meatball recipe that my wife likes, and I grew up with meat in the sauce, so it is the best of both worlds.

Sometimes, it depends on how much time I want to spend. I do a lot of Italian cooking and meatballs in a good tomato based sauce are great. But I can throw together a quick marinara sauce in 10 - 15 minutes without the meatballs if I'm in a hurry.

Oh no. My dad would disown me. We do put Italian sausage crumbles in a Bolognese or ragu tho. I put Italian sausage in my baked ziti as well.

  Not to the Italians. Hardcore Italian American families don't really do spaghetti and meatballs really. In fact we don't do a lot of spaghetti period. We do more penne and ziti and manicotti and carbonara. We do baked macaroni as well.

I prefer the minced meat in the sauce. I love meatballs in a stew tho, but as part of a dish to eat with rice and salad.
