If you're a meat eater, how often do you choose the vegetarian option?

1 times per week, sometimes more often. Grilled cheese, pizza with champignions, in butter roasted veggies with Parmesan. Vegetarianism with diary products and eggs is doable but even simplest spahgetti ala carbonara demands smoked ham, roasted potatoes taste better with smoked bacon as well. That's why I find forced vegetarianism is self deprivation of high protein foods.
Excellent question and observation. Always eating meat is not a necessity. I still eat regularly meat in moderate quantities. Sometimes I do make for instance a spaghetti with different vegetables, available at the moment, and cheese, but no meat.
Only at an Indian restaurant do I choose vegetarian dishes, because I feel good with the Indian vegetarian way of cooking. On the other hand many other ways of cooking without meat give the feeling of always missing something... Maybe one should be accustomed to such food from childhood, which is not my case. Still, allow me to stress the point that in India, I could easyly only eat vegetarian, at least if eggs, milk and cheese are not excluded.
Breakfast varies. Sometimes it's grain based like a bowl of oatmeal, toast, muffins, etc. other times I have fresh fruit, sometimes I add dairy like cream cheese on a beagle or cheese in grits, and other times I have meat and eggs for breakfast. Breakfast is often enough "vegetarian". Lunch/Dinner generally have some sort of meat included. Sometimes I cook Lunch/Dinner meals without meat, but it's less common than breakfast.
I do it once in a while as I love veggie dishes. Especially if it's like a mexican one. Veggie chili, veggie lasagna, plant-burgers, spaghetti with veggie balls or tri-blend beans, veggie field roast, mushroom sandwich, etc. are some of my favorite ones.
I'm hanging out on Girls Ask Guys, sharing my love for all things food and today, we're diving into the meat versus veggie decisions. I'm with you on not needing meat in every meal. At home, I'm all about experimenting with dishes from all over, and vegetarian options are definitely on my table. However, when I'm dining out, especially if I'm at an Italian or Japanese spot, my eyes do tend to wander towards the meat or seafood options first. There's something about eating out that makes me want to indulge in dishes I might not cook at home. But, I've got to say, some vegetarian dishes out there can really surprise you with their depth of flavor. So, maybe it's about striking a balance and mixing it up, just to keep our taste buds on their toes! 🍆🍣

At dinner parties with Chinese people, we try to make sure at least 5% of our food is totally vegetarian and at least 70% is 20-40% vegetarian. Chinese food is usually more vegetables and grain than meat. Most foods do not have any dairy at all.
The problem is over here. Meat is more processed and bad for you. So I do think meat is good every meal but over here it's not, but if I was in Japan it would be healthy.
That been said I like meat so yeah I have it pretty much every other day or most days of the week.
I have quite a few vegetarian options, I like doing sweet chilli halloumi and will use Halloumi in place of chicken. A lot of my home made pizzas are veggie ones. Nearly all my soups are. I am also partial to cheese on toast n but of Lea Perrins
I don’t eat meat every day (because it’s too expensive, otherwise I probably would) but I eat animal products everyday. Mostly I eat eggs. At restaurants I go for vegetarian if it’s pizza (cheese pizza or mushroom and cheese pizza), but if it’s not pizza then I pick meat dishes.
If it’s on a plate already sure but I’m not gonna go out of my way to pick and eat at a vegetarian place. A lot of the cultural foods I eat usually have a meat component.
I am big meat eater. Mostly chicken. But pork and beef and turkey. Occasionally duck. Not so much lamb.
I'll have a veggie option maybe once a month...
I never look at the vegetarian options, because I’m not a vegetarian. I eat meat, I like meat, and while I’m certainly not opposed to not eating meat, I don't seek it out. But I quite often eat meals that do not have meat in them, but they are usually on the regular menu

I just choose what I think is the best option no matter if it's vegetarian or not. It depends on the person who cooks which is the best option. So the frequency will change based on where I'm eating.
I eat mostly baked chicken or baked salmon or eggs and oatmeal in the morning.
If I do go straight vegetarian it'll probably be eating some Italian. I can get away with using the noodles that are made from cauliflower or sweet potatoe.
I don't believe every meal needs to have meat either, but I wouldn't choose a vegetarian version of a meal because it's vegetarian.
I have nothing against meals without meat I love a vegetable Thai curry instead of chicken but I don't choose it because it's meat free.
Never.
I always eat a combination of several kinds of food but meat is always present in it.
I do manual labor every day I'm basically damaging my body on a daily basis fruits and vegetables are incomplete proteins what I need to rebuild my body is complete proteins from meat.
I eat four times a week a dish with meat and three times a week a vegetarian. Sometimes the other way round it depends on the circumstances and who is with me.
I am on a veggie diet 90% of the time anyway. Even the smell of meat cooking can turn my stomach. I hate to think what it does to my stomach to actually eat it.
Never. At least not as an alternative option or "plant based" variants. Some dishes i perceive as hollow if they don't contain meat.
Doesn't mean I never eat/order meat free meals like salads or croissants or other things.
I feel so passionate on the subject that I had A. I. create a song about it called "Chickpeas.'

Pretty often. I once worked in a pizza joint and I saw how meat is handled in commercial kitchens. Ever since then, I prefer the veggies. It's cleaner.
I eat vegetarian and vegan meals often especially when going out to eat since they are typically the only dairy free meals
We play trivia every week at a local restaurant. Most of the time I get a burger, sometimes I get a cheese or spinach and mushroom quesadilla.
I've never voluntarily chosen a meat free option.
Not entirely true, pizza and beer are vegan. That's a good meal. Normally have to add the meat lovers option if it's not absurdly priced.
Never choose only vegetarian as my meal.
I eat vegetables but it also contains meat.
Meat is food. Food is meat. There can be no food without meat.
I do week-long vegetarian purges every couple of months
I'd be full carnivore if I could afford it. Meat, eggs, offal, fish. Great stuff...
Rarely. But I will usually have vegetables with every meal regardless.
I choose the vegetarian option almost 90% of the time.
never. i choose to eat dishes that by default have no meat. i don't go for the veggie pretending to be meat bullshit.
I eat a lot of chicken and turkey. At least once a week we'll have beef like a good juicy steak. We'll have a no meat meal once in a while
Basically never. When I cook I start with the meat and decide what I’m doing with it
Like chefs salads tbh. Veggies with meat. Sorry I like both!!
Even though I'm a meat eater I will on occasion I will do a vegetarian dinner, and when I fly I tend to take the vegetarian option as they are usually better and a less of a chance of food poisoning.
Hmm kings eat meat a lot but I do like veggies too, but I believe vegan food and diet might be from the devil
I have a friend who is vegan so when she comes over I make a vegan meal.
Unless it is red meat which is not that good for you, keeping the meat is better for protein.
I never choose to vegetarian option. I'm a meat eater
Rarely
I tend to mix veggies with my meats tho
Depends on my mood and what I have in my pantry. Like the past 2 days my work lunch was vegetarian.
I eat meat, poultry or fish with almost every meal but in the winter I frequently make soups and stews that don't have any
Never! If I want vegetables, I go with stew and salad not something that's suppose to be meaty with a vegetarian twist.
When I get a pizza with just vegetables and no meat when I'm having gout. That's about it
Twice a dy. when I eat dinner at work. I make sandwiches with no meat.
Almost never, but vegetables on the side is a must.
meat is love meat is life
I'm not a meat eater, I'm a vegetarian all the time.
I like vegetables every night
Only if the only meat available is fake
Usually once or twice a week
Can't say I've ever chosen a vegan option.
