Lots of places use peppers that are hot, but are grown for their heat and not their flavor. This place uses Serrano and Habenero peppers for heat, but mild ones that are bred for flavor more than heat. It's still hot, but the taste is fantastic - plenty good enough as a salsa with corn chips. It's slightly better than my grandmother's hot salsa, for which she was famous.
I don't get to that shop often, but when I do, I buy 3 or 4 burritos and eat them over a week, and they are SO GOOD, especially with their amazing hot sauce.00 Reply

Frank’s Red Hot original is what I am using right now although I have similar other items in the fridge. . You can find it everywhere and it is good so I use it. They had a commercial of an old lady saying “I put that shi! t on everything” which was memorable. I prefer a good habanero bases scarce as I f’ing it has a lot of flavor, not just heat. It is cayenne pepper based.
I also make my own hot mustard from mustard powder and a bit of cold water but that is primarily for Chinese takeout food and a few other select items.

My go-to at the moment

I usually spring for a good habanero mango hot sauce myself, but it more depends on what food I am looking to spice up 🤔

Hanging out here on Girls Ask Guys, sharing my love for all things delicious is what I do best! When it comes to adding a bit of heat to my meals, Sriracha is my go-to sauce. There's something about its garlicky, slightly sweet, and definitely spicy flavor that makes it versatile enough to drizzle over anything from eggs to sandwiches, and even sushi - don't knock it 'til you've tried it! It's like the Swiss Army knife of hot sauces in my book. 🌶️ Plus, it has just the right level of kick without overwhelming the dish's original flavors. Trust me, a little squeeze of Sriracha, and you're in for a tasty ride!

Somehow I like Tabasco but I don't like chili
Sometimes I make horseradish or mustard sauce, but this practically bechamel sauce (in butter roasted wheat flour + sweet cream) with addition of a tea spoon of horse radish or table spoon of mustard.00 Reply
1 yMy favorite is definitely "sriracha sauce". It's so delicious, it literally creates a festive atmosphere when I add a little bit to every meal! I definitely use it when making tacos. The combination of tulum cheese and sriracha is a whole other legend. Of course, pickled hot peppers are another legend, especially a must for breakfast.

1 yDepends on what I'm eating. I love horseradish but also have this stuff called Irish mustard that's hot and has great flavor. I am a fan of Sriracha as well.

1 yI guess I would say chili sauces.
Though the thing is, since I have GERD/acid reflux/heartburn so I really have to limit certain things. Spicy things and ketchup being the main things. I don't have to cut them out completely, but just greatly minimize how much I'd usually use before.
It's sort of unfortunate, but hey, at least I don't have to cut them out of my life 100%.

1 yI grow my own Thai Chilies in the garden. We sometimes make SiRacha type sauces from it, or use it as-is.
That's the practical part.
If only I got good local growing conditions and seed for quality horseradish... I'd have to extend my garden :)
As for mustards... they are nice, but I don't see ''heat''. Also ''Tabasco'' (no matter which type) is more for occasions when I don't want it too spicy.

1 yWow. It's REALLY food specific tbh.
Mustard for cold cuts, knishes, sausages
Horseradish for steaks and soups
Wasabi for Asian cuisine
Tabasco for poultry, popcorn, Mexican,
Peppers for pizza
It's SO specific00 Reply
1 yGenerally if I want a sauce to be a little hot, I like Indian curry. Often also a knife point of moderately hot pili-pili or Cayenne pepper. Occasionally a little mustard.

1 yCaribbean hot sauce is my go-to. There are no particular brands that come to mind for me, but I grew up on my grandma's pepper sauce, which is scotch bonnet based. It was pretty hot, but had a really nice flavour. Everyone's who's tried it loved it.

1 yI make a proprietary sauce called 911 sauce. It goes into your mouth like an airplane into the Empire State Building. Then it burns you from the ass up. I serve at dinner parties, and the only immediate remedy seems to be butt sex.

Don't really like chilli sauce. Love mustard and horseradish. But don't really consider those as adding heat lol.

Also when we are having grilled food, we commonly dip it with spiced in the vinegar and if i want it spicy, id just crush some fresh bird's eye chili in it
