In India, especially north India, beef is considered to be a pretty controversial food item. If you're caught consuming or trading, it can get you l*n to death by cow vigilantes. They have full support of the currently ruling government.

Yes, of course. Google about cow vigilantism in India online. It's become a trend for hindu extremists to mob lynch people to death and go unarrested. Because government is hindu extremist.

But that is just their excuse to show hate against non Hindus.
