This whole week I've been over thinking non stop I've been obsessed about how bad soda is for our body a decade ago I used to drink soda. Now it's been almost close to pandemic I made the choice to quit soda like cold turkey. I love learning about health benefits and such. I watch a documentary about soda I had no idea soda was used to clean rustic objects. Crazy it's scare me to think how we are left alone not realizing what chemicals we are putting into our body system. I was shocked also a cop told me they used coca cola for you know. I was surprised. I question myself you get no benefit from drinking soda. Soda lead to diabetes. I quit soda my husband and I were Tea people lol Anyone else here decided to quit drinking soda?
1.5K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. I used to drink tons of soda. I would carry a Big Gulp cup in my car and only pay for refills. At some point I switched to low calorie.
I started reading about how incredibly unhealthy that shit was. But the kicker was when I learned how evil Coca Cola and PepsiCo were. That's when I quit entirely.
That was well over 15 years ago. I don't buy any bottled products anymore. No soda, no bottled water. I don't care for beer.
I learned to love the water from my well. I always bring a liter bottle of it with me in my car.
But I'll admit that I enjoy a root beer on rare occasions, like when my wife and I go out for pizza. There is a place in town that has their own brand of root beer and I will even enjoy a root beer float once in a great while.
On hot days in the summer, I might indulge in the occasional cold Jarritos Mango, Mandarin or Pineapple soda. They used natural flavors and pure cane sugar. It's sugary, but not full of GMOs and toxins.00 Reply

If I want an industrial strength laxative then I'll buy one. I don't need my cold drinks providing that.
Ever noticed that the studies into links between endocrine system cancers and artificial sweetener always get shut down by the FDA before they reach any conclusions? If it sounds familiar, that's what Big Tobacco did decades ago after ethical doctors started realising something wasn't right.
I try to use honey as a sweetener when I can and I'm looking for a soda stream machine to carbonate water I can add my own homemade concentrates to. That way I know exactly what I'm drinking.
And unless you like microplastics you should stick to loose Tea. Even Twinings uses plastics in the manufacture of teabags these days.00 Reply

Soda here means something different. It’s just carbonated tap water. I believe abstinence of anything is bad, life is about moderation. Tea is a caffeinated drink and contains tannins just lie red wine, it can stain teeth just like coffee. The point is that everything is bad for u if u do enjoy research. Air is full of pollutants, tap water is full of chemicals, bread is full of carbs. U have to die of something, billy Connolly the famous Scottish comedian said he heard people say that eating brown bread will add 2 weeks to your life, but he points out that this is Not 2 weeks when u r in your 20s when u are enjoying life, it is 2 weeks when u r in your 90s when someone else wipes ur ass. Enjoy life and eat white bread!

I have probably only drank about 30 sodas while at work in 10 years, but could have had all the free soda I want at any of those places. I rarely drink the stuff anymore.
20 ReplyI drink occasionally, especially when walking for hours. It has been available to me since childhood.
I never got into the habit of drinking soda.
But when you have better things you never get used to it.
I can drink cheap sugarcane juice mixed with a little mint and black salt.
Sweet raw green mango pulp juice with roasted cumin powder and 2-3 types of salts in it.
Both of these are our most common sweet drinks during extreme heat. So soda seemed weak to me00 Reply
1 yI barely drink soda but that wasn’t always the case. So yeah I cut down considerably too. It’s just not good for your body at all and at some stage in our lives I guarantee it’s going to make a difference to your health if you consume soda to excess.
I stay away from all the well known highly carbonated drinks and drink less that 1 litre ( 568ml ) per month of any carbonated drink. I mostly drink still water and have done since I was a child.00 Reply
1 yYou got this! I've been on a weight loss journey since August and with exception of finishing up the Thanksgiving pop. I haven't touched the stuff. You'd be amazed a the calories in those soft drinks.
