I can be served popcorn, chips, tiny patties, etc a bunch of times at a party or family reunion but that never even satisfies me. By the time the meeting ends, I'm still hungry and need my dinner. That actually makes me hungrier and everything goes down fast. My good friend is surprised that I'm still hungry because she really thinks eating a bunch of snacks is enough to get you full. She gets full easily with snacks. I don't.
So if I were to know ahead of time there isn't going to an actual meal (lunch or dinner), I tend to bring my homemade meal to the meeting.

It's quite normal to feel unsatisfied with snacks at gatherings, especially if you're used to heartier meals. Snacks like popcorn, chips, and tiny patties often lack the protein and fiber that can keep you feeling full. They're designed more for grazing than for satiation. Bringing your own meal is a great idea if you're aware there won't be a more substantial option available. It's interesting how everyone's appetite and satisfaction levels are unique. I’ve often experienced similar situations during my culinary adventures, where a delightful street snack is enjoyable but not filling enough, prompting me to seek out a more hearty and satisfying dish later. 🍽️
