1 yI'm going to use Chicken nuggets as an example. They shred up the meat and then mix it with a bunch of soy and chemicals and then press it into a shape, which may be into the shape of dinosaurs, then it's fried in seed oils and flash frozen, all so your kid can eat microwaved shit with some meat in it... but at least they're shaped like dinosaurs.
To top it off those dino-nuggets are not even allowed to be sold in places overseas because they don't meet health requirements. So we have these companies producing meat paste that can't even be exported to someone outside of this country whom is basically cared for more than your kids eating overpriced meat paste nuggets that are only cool because they're shaped like dinosaurs.
I could go on with things like hot dogs where soy and paper are added so they expand when cooked just so you get plump looking wieners to shove in your mouth, but I'll stop at the chicken nuggets and highly suggest you just go for chicken tenders which is just actual strips of chicken and all the bad shit is in the breading and what they're fried in just like the nuggets.
So what is in all the shit they add to the meat... mostly excessive amounts of various types of sodium and/or other preservatives. All to improve shelf life.
Off topic a bit, but I'm a beer drinker and there is also a reason I wouldn't suggest drinking piss beers like Budweiser. Formaldehyde is how they keep dead bodies fresh and when consumed it will give you a fucking wicked dehydration headache. They don't have to list that as being in their beer because it's an alcohol product, but yeah that's why one type of beer due to it's low alcohol content will give you a heavy hangover rather than a strong beer with around 8 to 9% alcohol instead of 4%. Oh they can't use that in Australia? Well now you know why their beer has a higher % of alcohol than the same product sold in the United States.
Anyways, if you find a powdered form of formaldehyde and told me they put that in the meat paste in America... you wouldn't surprise me. It would just be yet another reason I hope RFK Jr. will actually slap the shit out of the producers of that crap. If we can't sell cigarettes just because of cancer causing agents, then we need to do the same to dino-nuggets!

1 yThat is a good question and the answer is complicated. Processed is by itself a term which lacks meaning. Although there is some evidence that smoked meats raise the risk of cancer. Meat in general is not a good item to make the majority of diets. Processed is like the term porn it means different things to different people. Is hamburger processed? For that matter does anyone really have unprocessed meat. Basically slaughter your own animal. Chemophonia, conspiracy theorists, health guru's throw around the word processed like it is a meaningful term. Humans live on this planet quite well with over 9 billion of us now. They eat widely varied diets with all different kinds of meat. I would say minimize meat overall in your calories and it doesn't matter what meat you are eating. If you have one slim Jim a month is that really worse for your health than daily organic fresh chicken thighs? Some would say yes I would say that is not really supported by the evidence.

1 yThe meat itself isn't the issue its the preservatives that are the problem. A good sausage is just ground pork, breadcrumbs, and herbs. A cheap processed one will be packed full of chemicals.
Another issue is the type of meat used. Young High quality animals get sent to be made into steaks and joints while older, often diseased animals go towards dog food or processed meals. Technically it should be safe but the budget brands are barely legal when it comes to bacteria levels and additives.60 Reply

Sodium nitrate can be deadly if you eat it in 100% concentration with a table spoon. But you can't buy it in this shape. Sodium nitrate decays in 12 hours while being in contact with meat. It makes meat intense red and prevents oxidation. Curing salt isn't dangerous as long as you don't use it for you breakfast tomatoes or eggs over years.
This processing method is millennia old but food industry is always willing to poison their customers with chemicals just to save few hours time and few bucks. If you want avoid sodium nitrate don't buy bacon, ham, sausages with intense red color.00 Reply395 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Because its NOT real , its full with preservatives , its full with Sodium , its fat content is high , often it even has sugar , there is nothing that is processed that is any good , but some are even worse than others , it takes little effort to grill a piece of real meat..
Always consume that which is real , from every food group. These preservatives do massive damage to the bodies metabolism , and are proven cancer causes , just put this stuff on your " never , ever , ever " list , with fast food , processed sugar , and processed carbohydrates.

1 yToo many preservatives in it. Also consider all the hormones added to plumb up the cows, pigs, etc. Although everyone loves a good hamburger or steak, it makes you wonder if it is best to stay a vegetarian.
10 Reply430 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Because it has all the chemicals and preservatives in it to keep it fresh or longer. Basically, anything man touches.
He ruins it.
And if you think about it.
Whether it's processed or not they're still feeding Animals, hormones. And every else to make them fatter so no matter what we are still eating something that's not good for us one way or the other10 ReplyI am not positive--but I am going to guess that it is the unhealthy food additives that are added to it, and other chemicals that are not good for humans. We need to steer clear of highly processed foods because they cause all kinds of conditions in children (learning disabilities, hyperactivity) and for adults those additives are not natural, not healthy.

it's also very cheap and available, and usually eaten with other highly processed stuff which is as unhealthy or even more unhealthy20 Reply Chemical preservatives are added to enhance shelf life, appearance, and taste. Most, if not all, of these are not natural additives and are unnessesary.
30 Reply586 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Not all processed meat is seen as unhealthy, just the ultra-processed meats, and then the meat isn't really the issues, but all the additives added while processing it. Some meats don't even need to be ultra processed, but they are because it's both cheaper and improves taste and shelf life. Jerky is one example of meat that doesn't need to be ultra-processed, I make my own because the store-bought stuff is ultra processed.
00 Reply495 opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. There's usually a lot of chemicals in processed meats meaning it's not as clean.
10 Replyget a package in your hands, turn it around and look up all of the additives on the internet. start with the ones starting with E-. You'll have your question answered. In general they cause inflammation and increase the risk of cancer.
10 ReplyLook it up on YouTube you’ll see with your own eyes why it’s not healthy when you watch how it gets “processed”
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Food & Beverage topic. Processed meat is any meat that has been preserved through salting, curing, smoking, or the addition of chemical preservatives to improve its taste or extend its shelf life. Modern processes fill the meat with harmful chemicals.
