Have you ever baked your own bread?

This question was inspired by @purplepoppy. I baked bread from a recipe I found in the internet. I made 2 loaves ant it really came out good. One loaf went in about 20 minutes as long with a half stick of butter. I am thinking of giving it another go.

I bake regular bread every other weekend, used to bake a lot of rye bread (which is what I eat more of that white wheat bread) but haven't done that in a while. Should make me a little sour dough monster. 🤔

I don't think anyone would want to eat bread that I baked. Long time ago, I did bake a few loaves of pre-made frozen dough but that doesn't count.

my wife buys the premade pizza dough all the time and makes bread with ti. It is good but it is sort of cheating.

Years and years ago my parents have a few times. But honestly, baking your own bread in Germany is like exporting snow to Antarctica, it doesn't make too much sense. :-)

Yes. I make a flatbread that goes on the grill and Irish Soda Bread. I also make my own pizza crust dough on occasion. I have a bread machine, but haven’t found a recipe that makes me want to keep using it, so it’s in the basement. I would love to make sourdough!

When i was stay at home mom, i baked some banana nut bread/muffin. Kids helped... came out really good and moist.

Now, I don't eat much break/carb... I also don't spend much time in the kitchen.

Hubby has a bread making machine and loves bread. He makes bread sometimes. I tried it. Its very good, fresh. Yummmm... even better with butter. I only take a small bit.

Many of us love bread and most that do love it will eat a whole loaf as soon as it comes out of the oven. Might i suggest Kerry Gold as a butter. You might try making your own Jelly or Jam Easy recipe. Give it a shot.

@purplepoppy My wife and I , Make Jams and Jellies and Preserves. You are right. The Fruit glut does occur later. You can substitute any Nectar into the Ball Recipe and it will set just fine. Notice that I did not say juice, most juice that is sold is about 10% The juice concentration has to be 20 % or more. That is where the definitiion of nectar begins Many nectars are available in the international isle of you grocery store. To make a batch of 8 or 9 1/2 pint jars you will need. 5 cups of nectar. I box of Sure Jell, 1 Tablespoon of Grapeseed oil, You can use butter as a defoaming agent but if you are selling to the public you can 8increase you market base by avoiding dairy. 7 cups of Sugar added to the above mixture when it begin a rolling boil. After adding the Sugar return to boil and allow two minutes before you pour and cap. Make sure you invert after ring and cap to scald the lid. Allow to
stay inverted for 10 seconds and right them. Don't do what I did (Mr ADHD) and forget about them, they will set upside down. Conversation piece. Enjoy

At one time, I had a bread machine and it was so easy! But now I follow a low carb diet and bread is DEFINITELY not my friend!

/there is a bakery near where my son lives and he brings down a couple of loaves when he visits. I defrosted one yesterday and I have had almost the whole thing by myself. Itis the best bread in the whole world.

I would never even try this. At minimum it would come out badly and at maximum I would probably burn my own house down trying it. I can't cook.

I used to think tht same thing. I just followed the directions which is usually hard for me and it came out good.
